Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS players not discovered as DLNA renderers
That plugin makes DLNA players visible to LMS, not the other way around. If your "squeezelite instances" are in the form of piCorePlayer, I think pCP can receive a bluetooth stream if so configured (and your player hardware supports it): https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?113521-Stream-BT-audio-to-LMS-on-RPi3=1000860=1#post1000860 Here's a "non-BT" approach: https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?107362-picoreplayer-option-like-shairport-but-for-google-cast=882813=1#post882813 Sorry, I'm not speaking from experience; only my understanding of how these things work. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] How to move LMS to a new machine?
Time has come for me to update from Win 7 x86 to Win 10 x64. Going from x86 to x64 I can't do an "upgrade" so it will be a clean install. I plan to image my existing Win 7 system onto a larger SSD leaving a second partition for Win 10 to be set up in dual-boot. As for LMS, I plan to: 1. Install LMS 8.3 under Win 10 2. Stop all LMS processes 3. Copy from Win 7 partition: - The entire contents of my C:\PROGRAM FILES\SQUEEZEBOX folder - Any %appdata% folders having to do with LMS or its plugins; currently none - Any %programdata% folders having to with LMS or its plugins; currently INGUZEQ and SQUEEZEBOX 4. Reboot and perform a "clear and rebuild library" rescan. Have I missed anything necessary to have my new installation of LMS behave exactly like my old one? Thanks. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] SBR without LMS
In order to access "My Music", LMS needs to be running somewhere on your LAN. Can you install it on another PC where you've mapped a drive to your NAS music folder? Other people having a NAS have used a Raspberry Pi as their server. piCorePlayer OS can run LMS. An inexpensive Windows mini-PC would also work. Switching the Radio firmware over to "UE Smart Radio" won't solve the problem and will introduce other issues. If for whatever reason you don't want the RPi solution, your Windows-based proposal will also work. As said above, you can still use your NAS for storage. Plenty of Windows mini-PCs on Amazon. Get one pre-installed with Win 10 Pro so you can access it via Remote Desktop. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Roon Ready ?
If you need it, the 7.8.0 firmware is here: http://update-origin.slimdevices.com/update/firmware/8.3.0/ => "fab4.bin" is for Touch. Copy that file to the root of a USB flash drive. Insert into USB at rear of Touch. Press "Reset" button. IIRC, Touch will detect and offer to install new firmware upon restart. There are later versions as I'm running "fab4_8.0.1_r16862", but I can't find any download locations. These typically install via LMS "Community Firmware" plugin, and I'm assuming you are no longer running LMS. Maybe try 7.8.0 first and if it works that avoids further complication. If you don't already the have EDO applet installed on your Touch, good instructions are here: https://darko.audio/2012/05/enhanced-digital-output-applet-for-squeezebox-touch/ Running EDO, Touch will pass via USB and coax up to PCM 24/192 and DSD64 packed as DoP (for DACs that support it.) This works - EDIT IN PLUGIN.PM (24-BIT FLAC SECTION): Code: ogg flc * $CLIENTID$ # IFRD:{RESAMPLE=-r %d} [sox] -t ogg $FILE$ -t wav $RESAMPLE$ - | [$CONVAPP$] -id "$CLIENTID$" -wav -wavo -d 24 | [flac] -cs -0 --totally-silent - Because Inguz automatically generates its own custom-config.conf with sections for each connected player, you need to edit this in the plugin.pm file, delete the custom-config.conf file in the Inguz plugin folder, and restart your server. A new custom-config.conf will be created. To be safe, make "LAST GOOD" backups of any files you edit/delete. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Ogg not playing as expected using Inguz EQ
Inguz runs everything through a filter, so all formats need decoding on the server. I have mostly FLAC and MP3, but also a few M4A and OGG. LMS filetypes are set to disabled for Ogg "Native" and instead play using "sox" (see below). This is similar to the settings for other formats above. Unfortunately, the Ogg files do not play unless I set filetypes back to Ogg "Native" which circumvents Inguz EQ. Any idea on what is going wrong here and how to fix it? (Is it possible that the version of sox bundled with LMS 8.3 does not support playback of Ogg?) Thanks. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] 8.2 Beta Handling of Multiple Composers
Hi Michael, this is the regular view; no library. In the particular case above, each work is tagged with the appropriate COMPOSER, but the ALBUM ARTIST for the entire LP is "Various Composers". This worked fine up until now. The "new" way is redundant and unwieldy. I never had an issue with sorting. Could we go back or make this "settable"? What -has- always bothered me about these albums is the way they show up elsewhere in LMS. For instance, in the screen below it would be much more useful for the individual tracks to list the COMPOSER rather than "Various Composers". Thanks for your consideration. Would this be in Base.js? If so, I modify it as below and so far it seems safe. You have to remember to re-modify it anytime you update LMS. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS has begun "chirping" at me
First thing in the morning, or when my Touch has been unused for a while, the first thing I play is preceded by a short "chirp" of uncorrelated music. At least that's what I think I hear: more like a split second of music vs. some kind of random noise. Happens on both local file playback and internet radio. I've experimented with "Power On Resume" options and various values of "Audio Startup Time" with no improvement. It's very difficult to test because it's intermittent. What I can say for sure is that this has not always happened. I tried going from LMS 8.0.1 back to LMS 7.9.4 and it made no difference. (I might try 8.1.) Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Help with Wav Files
My guess is that whatever program you used to create the WAV files has written the tags in a format that LMS does not completely understand. This is not uncommon for WAV files as there is no real standard for WAV tags. LMS will read "RIFF" tags written into WAV files. You should be able to fix this using Mp3tag (https://www.mp3tag.de/en/). Open a folder of your WAV files into Mp3tag, verify tags, and save the files. This should write the aforementioned tag format. Run a "clear and rescan" library rebuild in LMS to confirm. If it works, do the same with your remaining WAV files. Another option is to convert the WAV files to FLAC or ALAC both of which have native tag support readable by LMS. Not sure why deleting your Squeezebox folder and reinstalling would solve your problem, but glad it did. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] "Weird" LMS / / Touch / network / router problems
I assume you've done a factory reset on the Touch? See p.9: https://www.logitech.com/assets/32039/squeezeboxtouch-qsg.pdf Were you using the same ASUS router with your old configuration? If it's also new, it may have contemporary features that are interfering with its legacy (802.11 b/g) support. The Touch and Radio are (g) devices. You might check the router's compatibility mode and also try disabling the 5G radio. You might also try a factory reset on the router, update to latest firmware, and disable any proprietary functionality, e.g. AiRadar, AiCloud, AiProtection. If wired is not a convenient option, you might try Powerline adapters but for many they seem to bring their own set of issues. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Using Sox to parametrically equalizing I'm losing seek functionality. Could it work?
Ok, as I said it was a while ago and I guess the "seek" problem was never solved. I moved on to Inguz DRC/EQ shortly after and it seeks fine. Here is what Inguz has in its custom-convert.conf: Code: flc flc * 00:00:00:00:00:00 # FT:{START=--skip=%t}U:{END=--until=%v} [flac] -dcs $START$ $END$ -- $FILE$ | [InguzDSP] -id "00:00:00:00:00:00" -wav -wavo -d 24 | [flac] -cs -0 --totally-silent - Apesbrain's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=738 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112497 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Using Sox to parametrically equalizing I'm losing seek functionality. Could it work?
I haven't used an "equalizer" custom-convert.conf for a few years, but I think it worked back then. Some slight differences to your own, so maybe worth a try: Code: flc flc * 00:04:20:00:00:00 # FT:{START=--skip=%t}U:{END=--until=%v}D:{RESAMPLE=-r %d} [flac] -dcs $START$ $END$ -- $FILE$ | [sox] -q -t wav - -t wav $RESAMPLE$ - equalizer 99.6 2.70q +3.6 equalizer 283 1.00q -2.9 equalizer 2293 1.00q +1.4 | [flac] -cs --totally-silent --compression-level-0 - You don't need the switch "equalizer 2842 0.1q +0.2" as it's not really doing anything. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] New Chrome visual effect in LMS web under Win 10 2004
It appears there is a way to override this new focus convention: https://web.dev/style-focus/#use-:focus-visible-to-selectively-show-a-focus-indicator Perhaps it can be incorporated into a future v.7.9.3 release. Thanks. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] New Chrome visual effect in LMS web under Win 10 2004
No need to go all "doomsday" over the 2004 feature update. It installed fine for me. This behavior is something new for Chrome and its Edge sibling. I noticed the blue checkboxes in LMS on Chrome at least a week ago. The black focus boxes are new after today's Win update, however. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] New Chrome visual effect in LMS web under Win 10 2004
Since updating to Win 10 2004, latest version Chrome now puts black focus lines around many selected elements. "Search" shown below and also noticed the same effect when selecting transport and volume buttons. [image: https://i.imgur.com/X64dOBe.jpg] This on LMS 7.9.3 release from a few days ago. Same with Microsoft Edge; Firefox and Opera preserve the old behavior. Kinda fugly, but does not seem to affect functionality. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS Update Procedure
Sure, but in the meantime just set up a remote desktop session to your server and you don't even need to get out of your chair. Use Windows own remote server app, or install Chrome Remote Desktop or RealVNC. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS 7.9.3 "Get a new browser" message
I am running latest Chrome (v. 81.0.4044.122) on Win 10 x64 with JavaScript enabled. I also believe the appearance of this warning is new; I haven't changed anything in years other than regularly updating Windows, Chrome, and LMS. I am using the "Default" skin. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS 7.9.3 "Get a new browser" message
Sometimes when I refresh LMS in Chrome I see a message briefly flash by at the top of the screen. It's not there long enough to read it, but I think it says something about getting a new browser that is compatible with LMS. I have the latest Chrome on Win 10 x64 so this shouldn't be an issue. Can this message be updated/fixed? Thanks. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] EQ for SqueezeboxServer?
If using Windows as your server OS, Inguz should run. Maybe reinstall according to these instructions: https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?109921-Inguz-EQ-DRC Unfortunately, you probably won't be able to control it via the LMS web UI as its controls are written using Microsoft Silverlight (a depreciated Flash competitor). I control it using a mobile app such as Squeeze Commander or Orange Squeeze. I know of no EQ alternative for Squeezebox.
