Whilst trying out the different LMS Versions, I found that 8.0.1 still works on Ubuntu Server LTS 14.04, Oh my... every now and then I strip out "legacy" support. Which I did for Perl 5.18 on x86_64 in 8.1. The next build should have them back again. But please get your system updated anyway

Might it be Possible that the Perl Version might be the cause of the Issue? That's what I was wondering, too... Can you run something like sudo /usr/sbin/squeezeboxserver --d_startup in a terminal? What would be the minimum version to get 8.0, 8.1 and 8.2 running? The minimum in theory
