Might it be Possible that the Perl Version might be the cause of the Issue?
That's what I was wondering, too... Can you run something like sudo /usr/sbin/squeezeboxserver --d_startup in a terminal?
What would be the minimum version to get 8.0, 8.1 and 8.2 running?
The minimum in theory is 5.10. I'm actually doing most of the development work on 5.18, which is the default installation on macOS up until Catalina.
