Not a good long-term solution. You can watch the audit log and use ls -Z
to view file/directory contexts. Use tools like audit2allow to help you

Fixed the attachment directory write issue by setting setenforce to '0'.
Then I got held up on the IMAP server (dovecot) and had to set 'Secure IMAP
(TLS)' setting to 'disabled'.
Does these sound ok? Or, do I have another issue??
Great news is I just logged into my new Squirrelmail setup!!!

Just watch your log file, walk the directory structure to your
data/attachments director
I am past this point now. Solved a bit more items. But now stuck on writing
permissions to the attachment directory
(/var/spool/squirrelmail/attach/)
- main thing I fixed was the squirrelmail conf file in the /etc/httpd
directories.

Thank you Mr. Goutam for the immediate support.
The problem is there, even when we reply to the mail sent to us also. We
had tried with entering the email address manually also. I don't know how
to use telnet to send the mails. Also, I am not the one who is sending the

The issue may not be related to Squirrel Mail per se. In case you have the

Hi Sharon. I suggest you send your request to [EMAIL PROTECTED] (found this
address on their website). The problem is with quotas on the mail server.
I'm pretty sure this is not a Squirrelmail related issue. Good luck.

Thanks for the tip! I searched Google and went though the on docs at the

Wow, this is fantastic!
I downloaded 1.4.1 CVS and the performance is now very good.
With 1.4.0 I had to wait 30 seconds to see my mailbox, now it is only 1-2
seconds! However, I have not installed any plug-ins yet, so I don't know
if it has anything to do with that. I will report back once I have.

Hello Marc,

If there was a speed difference, it wasn't significant.

Nope. I found an old IMAP server gave me better performance, so I'm using
imap-4.1.final-1 instead of the RH 8 stock
A few questions:
1: Did you use SquirrelMail 1.2.x before and how did that perform?
2: Did you enabled server side sorting?
3: What parts are slow?
4: How many messages does your INBOX contain?
Marc.

The upgrade from 1.4.0 to 1.4.1 didn't help (or hurt) my performance
issue. Message highlighting suddenly started working, though. Right now,

Use SquirrelMail 1.4.1 CVS.
There were a lot of performance related fixes. Performance issues should
be history :) It could be possible that it's quicker then the 1.2.x
branche. At least that was the intention.
If you tried it and compared the versions and can confirm the performance
did in fact
You've got to give a little more information here like what operating
system are you running and the the version. Are you the administrator of
the system? If not then you won't be able to install imap.
