Alt-Ctrl-Backspace is supposed to make X stop, not restart.
It's the XO that has a bug. (an ill-considered "feature")
If you screw up your laptop such that X dies or hangs at start-up,
the current XO behavior will cause you pain. You'll find yourself
in a restart loop, unable to repair or debug th

FWIW, you can simply restart X via either: CTRL+ALT+Backspace or
ALT+SYSREQ+B (Alt+PrtScr+B)

disappointed that the Restart option has been dropped. With SoaS, I've used
it when importing Activities (reboot is necessary to show the new Activity
on the Activity List), and when needing to reboot into Windows (which
