We did not test it on VPN networks yet and we are using the same version
as Steve is:
Firmware Revision = 3.1_32,REV=2005.08.24.08.55
So, to me it looks like it is getting better but it might not be perfect
for VPN yet.

I think, you are lucky then. I am running only 8 and have another 10+
waiting for installation. (More positions are possible) I get the
problem more than once a week This problem is keeping me from
installing more. I'm running a trading floor, so messing w/ the
keyboards is not a viable option.
I have 1500+ Sun Rays Deployed, I see this about once a month, the Sun Ray
will loose keyboard and mouse control. What I do is simply change usb ports
and it everything works. It does not matter what version of SRSS that you
are running. I have seen this problem with all types of keyboards. Like

The only fix right now is unplug and plug the keyboard back in.
