Let us know if the problem continues. This could also be a problem with the server, though, which would have nothing to do with Pidgin. Dear Michael, I worked with the client remotely using TeamViewer. We did a complete uninstall and reinstall of Pidgin using your download. We set up a new account for her and still had the same results. When she sets her status to Away she still is Available on my Pidgin. When I change my status to Away, the change shows up right away on her Pidgin. I have attached a pic of a status hover from my Pidgin for her account. It shows that she has multiple statuses. We're both using the same version. What should be the latest server version? I'll see if I can work the problem with Stanford ITS. Thanks. Inquiry - Automatic Pidgin Status Update When Using Software
Good afternoon, I am simply wondering if there is an easy way to get the Pidgin status message to update itself to Program X in use... automatically when I am using a certain program (thus letting Buddies know that the program is in-use, since we are working with a network license). Similarly, the status should be changed back to Available when the program is closed. I am not much of a programmer, but I can easily follow any instructions to make this adjustment if necessary. I would appreciate knowing whether or not this is feasible or if a plug-in will need to be developed. If a plug-in is required, would someone be kind enough to implement one? Martin spake unto us the following wisdom: Thanks very much for the rapid response. This seems like an easy implementation to me. However, as stated, my programming skills are limited. If you are able to take the time to provide me with a step-by-step walkthrough of what to do, I would be very grateful. I am running WinXP exp pack 3... I don't know anything about Windows. I'm returning this to the list. Ethan signature.asc Description: Digital signature ___ Support@pidgin.im mailing list Want to unsubscribe? Re: Pidgin status glitch
Hi, I have similar problem with 2.10.6, but on XMPP. I have my own serwer (Prosody) so I know exactly when someone is on-line or offline. There are times, when Pidgin reacts after some time, but more often I need to reconnect, so Pidgin would show statuses properly. I can't say which version introduced the problem, but it's from about month ago. They appear to be online but the software sometimes fails to tell me that. I think it's frustrating that they are online but Pidgin decides to flip me the bird (see what I did there?) and tell me otherwise.
