 Hi
I did an internet search for SeaMonkey and Java
and one of the sites suggested was by
a favorite programmer at cljh: Roedy Green.
This is what he had to say about the search topic
 :http://mindprod.com/jgloss/seamonkey.html

Thanks but that site does not tell me how to make J6-U14 work with
SeaMonkey 1.1.17

The J6-U14's refusal to work is pissing me off so much I feel like
cursing god.

I first completely removed Java from my system by uninstalling it in
the Windows control panel.

I then installed J6-U14 again. Still, it stubbornly refuses to work
with SeaMonkey.

Assuming the following with brutally force J6-U14 to work with
SeaMonkey...

... Just how do I do the following:

Set up the association for Java Web start.
View Preferences = helper Applications = new/edit =
Mime Type: application/x-java-jnlp-file
Description: Java Web Start
Extension: jnlp
Open using the default application

Sorry if my post is inappropriate, I'm just very upset right now
because even after doing all I can do J6-U14 is still bullying me.

In the SeaMonkey browswer I've gone to edit - preferences - advanced
and I have the enable Java box checked.

I still keep getting the same old Click here to go the plugin
message whenever I visit a site that uses Java. I wish I could bring
J6-U14 into living existence and burn it alive eternally. If J6-U14
were a living thing with tactile sensations, I'd do exactly that to it.

So I had to go back to using Java-6-Update-13. Now everything except

  What's going on here?

What is the latest version of Java that SeaMonkey is fully-compatible

Alternatively, what is the most advanced Mozilla-based, non-Firefox

I don't like Firefox or Internet Explorer at all. I prefer SeaMonkey

  Thanks a bunch

 Hi GreenXenon,
You make no mention of having
 read the faq's athttp://seamonkey.ilias.ca/browserfaq/
 So I'll suggest it here.
 bH

I read the FAQ the only thing about Java on that site is How do I
disable Javascript on specific websites?

Try reinstalling because I'm running Java 6, Update 14 just fine here
  without problems...

 May not be necessary.

I had the same failure on their test page, read the instructions, and
 solved it.

 The answer was here:
 http://java.com/en/download/help/521500.xml

Print or memorize the instructions, close SeaMonkey, update the setting
in the Java Control Panel, then relaunch SeaMonkey and revisit the test
 page.

Thanks for all responses.

I just installed SeaMonkey 1.1.17. I then un-installed Java 6 Update
14 and then re-installed it.

Then I followed the directions you gave me. Unfortunately, I still get
the same problem on their test page.

Also, in the Default Java for browsers icon, I checked Mozilla
Family. I closed Java's control panel and reopened it. The Mozilla
Family box was unchecked! It seems that on my system J6-U14
blantantly refuses to run on SeaMonkey. SeaMonkey is my favorite
browser so this really frustrates me. I don't get along with any
browser other than SeaMonkey.

Is there a workaround?

Thanks again

I forget to specify, that when visiting the java test page, I get that
stubborn Click here to go the plugin message. When I click it, a
Plug-in Not Loaded dialog-box pops up. In that dialog box, it
states:

Information on this page requires a plug-in for:

   application/x-java-xm

You can retrieve the plug-in from:

Plug-in Finger page

To retrieve the plug-in now, click the Get the Plug-in button and
then select the plug-in you need from the page that appears.

Below the above statements are two buttons -- Get the Plug-in and
Cancel

If I click the Get the Plug-in it takes me to a page to download
what I've already downloaded and installed -- J6-U14

This is so annoying!
