I blocked google-analytics by using uBlock Origin and adding a personal
blocklist into it. That was one of the domains I blocked completely.
What I used in the "My filters" list was:

||google-analytics.*

Install No Script and blacklist the domain. Case closed. Unly used for
user data harvesting and tracking.

I think:

Preferences -> Privacy & Security -> Prevent tracking activities by
known sites

is a bit better option, though quite often I see embedded content (most
notably FB) missing on sites. While the previous is not showstopper for
me, I've also found it breaking the Google authentication with the
Atlassian cloud services I need in my daily work.

Many commercial Web sites use Google Analytics to gather information
about who visits it Web pages. If you are starting SeaMonkey with a
home page that is a Web page, your problem is not in SeaMonkey. Your
problem is in how that Web page uses Google Analytics.

I block Google Analytics through use of the AdBlock Plus extension to
filter out requests to [www.google-analytics.com/*].

That should not be happening on startup.
Odds are you have something google related on your computer that starts
on browser start up. Find it and delete it.
Firefox has a "no google analytics" addon.
It works with SM 2.26 after conversion. Don't know if it will convert
to your SM version or not:

Yes, that worked. Can you explain to me what the problem was?

No. But I suggest to install the extensions, Add-Ons etc. step by step to ensure
that none of them causes this error.

This means there was a problem with your profile. It could be
a corrupted file or the fault of one or more installed extensions.

Figuring out how to fit it is another issue altogether. Usually,
the best way is to migrate to the new profile, then delete the
original and go from there - but others may have better advice
for you.

The Mozillazine web site has articles on how to migrate profile
information from one profile to another, so you can follow that
if you decide to take that route.

http://kb.mozillazine.org/Thunderbird_:_FAQs_:_Changing_Profile_Folder_Location#Create_a_new_profile_and_migrate_your_old_data

I'm not sure that's the best article, so someone may be able to
post a better link...

Script message

2009-10-02 Thread Barbara Norvell
I have had this problem on several sites, but didn't save the names.
Today I was online at Sears.com. I am getting a message A script on
this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop
the script nor, or you can continue and see if the script will complete.

This is the one for today.

Sometimes I can click on continue and it will work and other times I
have to click on stop script. It has happened on other sites also, but
don't remember which one.

Just hit Stop, it's the safest way to not end up with a non-responding
browser because of a poorly designed javascript.
The javascript performance of SM1 is quite bad, in October SM2 shall be
out, those messages are pretty much gone with it (feel free to test with
the Beta-Version if you like)
