I think narrator under windows 7 is windows-u not enter. Also, if you
can get to the volume mixer, usually there are separate controls and
mutes for every application (or is this a windows 10 feature)?

Greetings Grumpy Dave,
I recently have been having a similar problem using win7 on a 32bit machine.
Two things I discovered are:
1. After booting up and hearing all the start up sounds as you described, I
get no voice response.
2. If I press the control-numpad-5 I get a message something like
Dave,
This is very strange because the NVDA install would have sent speech to
your default output. And yet you are hearing system sounds which will be
through the default output. So it should be working.
But you can check in the control panel if you haven't yet to make sure

When I turn on the Win 7 system, it goes through its usual start up
process, including playing the Windows chime at the start of Windows.
-- I even hear the Window Eyes Piano Sound as Win Eyes is to be
Starting.
But after this, there is absolutely no speech.
Attempted to start up Narrator
Hello,
I have been using windows xp during the updates to window eyes to it's current
version, and have not kept up with the updates due to the fact that I could not
use them on an xp machine.
I now have a windows 8 machine (used) and am wondering if you still offer, for
a price, a backup
I would check a couple of things -- do you get anny sound out of
Narrator? Either run narrator from the windows-r dialog or I think
windows-u will run it. If you get that going, check your WE voice
parameters. If not, you do have sound card problems. Also, in the
volume mixer make sure the
Hi Dave.
Have you tried switching to different speech synthesizers?
The only other thing I can think of is the volume of your synthesizer is low.
Window-Eyes controls the speech volume independent of the sound card, at least
that's my experience.
If none of this works, I'd get hold of tech
Hello,
I recently purchased a new Used system, that has Win 7 Pro on it.
At the Shop, I asked them to install a Sound Card, because I like a
higher quality sound that what comes from the On Board Sound Chips.
They said no problem.
I picked up the system a few days ago, and boufht it home.
I tried that, and that's the command to select text. I also tried F7, and
nothing happens. I remember looking at all the menus, and finding where the
spell check option was. All I know now is that it works.

Hello Robert,
I had the same trouble as you and Chris Grabowski asked me to make sure I
maximize the window which seems to have solved the problem.
I was rather surprised as I thought I had already maximised the window.
Can anyone please tell me how I can enable my spell check in WLM? When I
