Thanks! If no one addresses this question with a solution on the list,
I'd appreciate your asking Raul about the transcript versions of his 8
tutorials.
They were outstanding, simple and straightforward.
I'd love having all of them as a reference.
Are these still available -- particularly the transcript versions?
Thought I had them all saved -- but apparently not.
I receive an error msg when attempting to retrieve them from the old BW
website thought the listings still appear there.
Appreciate any help or guidance with this.
Thanks!
Thanks to all for the support and info. All went well with the install
and insertion and acceptance of the key.
And, has been mentioned, the 2 programs talked together without a hitch;
but, of course, I have disabled WE upon start-up on the pc I will be

I am ready to do my first install of JFW18 on a test pc which now has the
latest and last version of WE.
I realize that both screen readers cannot be run simultaneously, but it's
ok to have both WE and JFW installed as long as only one is talking.
Am I correct on that?

I do both these ideas: also, sometimes a letter that is seldom, if ever

As an example, on my desktop, Winamp has the letter x.

I need some clarification on this. I understand that the software is
exactly the same as one is using the same files. So, for paying the $80
extra or so per each SMA, what does one receive -- extra keys, et al?
Even though I am a home user using screen readers strictly for personal
use, I
I realize that over the years probably thousands of scripts have been
written for JFW.
VFO, however, maintains no central repository where these scripts can be
uploaded.
How does one discover what is available for free or for cost? Does
someone maintain some sort of central catalogue; and will

Ok, here are the equalizer freqs for both ISO and Winamp:

Two others questions come to mind.
(1) Does anyone know or can direct me to a source which tells us the
center frequency of each of the 10 eq bands?
(2) Do the values given, when setting the eq (8.8, 9.6, et al) have any
meaning or they are just relative numbers to each other?
Thanks!

Thanks a whole bunch for your guidance. I appreciate also the mention of

My learning curve is over; now it's the testing and the presets should

I am using ver 5.66 of Winamp and have the latest WE script/app for the

I open the equalizer using alt+g but, for the life of me, cannot figure

That's exactly Peter's point -- and both of you have said it in different

Effectively, future development of WE is no more. Granted, the PR side of
it could have been handled better; but that's a completely different

The question I have is this: the
I have been using a particular non-factory set file for as many years as I

It works fine with WE954 except I need to redefine windows alt1-alt9 for

For the life of me, I cannot remember how to do this?
Can anyone get me started with this or point me to a resource

Great from hearing from someone who has a legal background on this.

That would cost VFO major dollars to defend which they likely don't have.

I doubt that anti-trust can come into play in this situation. For one

Thanks for the lead. Unfortunately, the app doesn't provide that one

annoying than beneficial -- to each his own, I guess, and hopefully some

well, MSFT has indicated that WIN7 will be supported until at least
sometime in 2020.
I wouldn't worry too much about WIN7 going away until they first
officially discontinue dropping support for VVista.

I use Ie as my primary browser but also have Firefox on my system for use

Where is the print screen key on the keyboard? I've heard of it, cannot
find it and don't recall ever having used it until this app came out.

In the Pre-9 WE days, WE spoke a number for each table on a web page --
Table 1, Table 2, table 3, etc or perhaps Table 1.1, table 1.2, and so on.
This changed with the 9 series, and I am not sure if this coding has been
taken out of the software or some setting needs to be tweeked.

I believe that in ver 8.0 or so, GWMICRO introduced the ability to
navigate by specific field elements rather than using a "c" regardless of
which element one wanted to find. This, of course, made things simpler to
find an edit box, combo box, et al.
I also remember that there was a way to

That's why I ask the question. There have to be key files in doing this
as that's where the settings reside.
I have certain defined hotkeys,
pagemarkers, settings which might take me hours not only to reconstruct
but also to figure where some of those settings and hotkeys are defined.

I just ran a virus scan using ESET. It found, say 25 threats, and
indicated it cleaned 6 of them.
I saw no choice in how to deal with the remaiing 19 such as to immediately
delete them, quarantine them, whatever.
Is this a WE issue, or am I missing something here.
Thanks for guidance on this.

My sighted adult son is somewhat the computer geek. Following my

It found 200+ problems in a 2 or so hour scan of the main hd and a
secondary drive, cleaned nothing, and gave him no ability that

None of the flagged items are WE related.
It seems, both in my and my son's experience today, Eset flagged ole bunch
of stuff without offering an option to deal with it.
Cleaning less than 10% of what it found is hardly reassuring and so I
think looking elsewhere may make sense.

What are you basing your belief that support for win7 has ended. It will
continue, according to Microsoft, until at least 2020.
And it is always possible that it may go beyond that date.
Many manufacturers and pc builders are offering Win7 as an option and are
