The FN key is usually next to the Windows Key to the left of the space bar.
My HP has 4 keys to the left of the spacebar, the alt key, the FN key, the
Windows key

I brought a HP notebook last year and i hated the fn key being pressed with
a funtion number key.
So i got the guy at the store where i got it from to go in to bios and he
fixed it up.
all is well now.

depending on what you do you canchange this by holding down the fn key
and pressing the escape key this turns your function keeys back to
regular f1 through 12 no need then for the fn key plus f8 I have a
lenovo laptop and this is what I learned from lenovo .

I have an HP Pavilion purchased nearly two years ago, and I have very
few issues with it. Now, this may sound stupid, but where is this fn key
that people are talking about. I thought that all of the top row of
little keys were function keys.
Thank you.
Peace.

Hi,
A couple years ago I purchased a Toshiba
It's a nuisence, but have you thought of using a desktop keyboard plugged
into one of the USB ports?. I have very heavy fingers which get me into
constant trouble on a laptop with very sensitive keys. It also eliminates
the problem with accidently touching the mouse pad.

key myself.
2. It has the 10 key number pad.
3. it has the applications key.
Here is the link, you can get it refurbished for about $350.00
