RE: how to get contacts to be accessible in outlook 2013

2015-11-10 Thread Van Lant, Robin via Talk
I haven't found the list view very easy to work with and it's very easy to
delete information. However, if you use the business card view, you can arrow
to the right through them or use first letter navigation to get to the first
name that starts with that letter, then arrow to find the one you want. Once
you find it, hit enter to open the contact. In business card view, the
contacts are arranged in a grid pattern with 4 across. Thankfully, arrow keys
will move you to the next row of cards, but you can also arrow down to jump to
that next row.

There is a webinar on the WE webinar page that focuses on contacts in Outlook
2010, so you can get as much as possible out of the outlook enhance app.

RE: protected view

2015-11-10 Thread Chip Orange via Talk
Hello,

This happens to any file you get by downloading it, or which is attached to an
email message. You can either use Windows Explorer and go into the file
properties for the file (by right clicking it), and then unblocking it, or in
Word, if the document is opened, go to the File ribbon tab, arrow down to Info,
and then arrow right until you find the choice for "allow editing" and choose
it.

I believe GW has a nice detailed kb article on their support site for this.

Browser inconsistencies?

2015-11-10 Thread via Talk
Hello,

As many of you are probably quite tired of hearing me rant about the
short comings of WE 9.2, I do have a question about using Firefox,
instead of the prone to freeze up I.E. 11.

When using I.E. 11, I can easily get to those Channels on Youtube for
which I have Subscriptions.

However, when using Firefox, I can not go to my list of Subscriptions in
order to view the latest uploads from those Channel owners.

I am able to go to a list of my subscriptions as if I wish to change
some settings as to how I am notified, through Emails. but no where
have I found a way to go to the current unviewed new uploads as I can
when using I.E. 11.

Would someone nudge me in the right direction if you know what I might
be missing?

Thanks,

Dave

i don't know which version i have. but with me it locks up when the bookmark
list is opened with control i. even then usually if you wait 1 or 2 minutes w e

my work around when i want to use the bookmark list is to turn both auto load
and browse mode off before i open the list. then after i go to a link from the
bookmark list close the list again with control i and turn browse mode and
autoload back on. these hangups don't happen when i use nvda and firefox.

Re: two possibly dumb questions

2015-11-10 Thread David via Talk
For your first question, App Central is a sub-devision of the AISquared
website. The direct link to it, is:

https://www.gwmicro.com/App_Central/
Scroll down to the table on the page, and choose the category for what
apps you want to read more about. Then, you can open an individual
website for each app, to read more about its features and functions.

Well, that is the "old-style" way of accessing the App Central directly.
There is a built-in way, directly in your screen reader. Press the
Win-key in combination with the letter G, and something called AppGet
will open. Here, you can see a complete list of apps available from App
Central, or you could set it to show you respectively either all your
currently installed apps, or only the apps that need an update.
Probably, this serves as an answer for your second question.

Once AppGet is up running on your screen, arrow down to an app of
interest, and tab over to the box that holds the short-info about the
app. It typically, in more or less short terms, will inform you of what
the app is supposed to do for you.If this is an app you want to install,
simply tab over to the Install button, and press Enter, then follow
onscreen instructions if any. Some apps will immediately install, others
need some further user interaction, like accepting an user agreement.
But you will always be informed if such should be the case.

When done with all your installation, simply just close the AppGet
window, and start to enjoy the new features of the screen reader.

Hope all of this helped you one step further in realizing how beneficial
the apps available can be. Just be aware, that some apps are more
powerful than others, in that they will have a higher impact on the
functionality of your screen reader. Some kicks in automatically, when
certain things take place, like whenever a given application gets opened
and activated on your computer. Others, are more hidden, and will need
your deliberate action, to even get started - and they typically will be
experienced as nearly stand-alone applications, carrying out a given
kind of activity, and in general leaving your screen reader alone. Still
others, will be there more for your pleasure, like a couple of games.

Re: We 9.2 and Google chrome

2015-11-10 Thread manny via Talk

Hi Don,
I am using windows 7 and the same thing was happening for me, and I just
uninstalled google chrome.

Bottom line, until WE9.2 is updated, we will have to live with WE9.2
crashing or the browsers i.e. 11, firefox, and google chrome crashing.

Good Luck, Manny please help me reach a million clicks by forwarding my

two possibly dumb questions

2015-11-10 Thread Linette Sukup via Talk

These are possibly dumb questions, but I've been out of circulation as
far as computers are concerned for a few years. So I humbly bow before
the great wisdom of the tech gurus on this list.

1. Where is App Central?
2. How do you find out what apps you have and what they are for?
Thank you lotsly.

Peace.
Linette
