My guess is that you are not virtualizing your messages. You can toggle this on by using Alt + Shift + V when focused on the inbox. Alternatively, if you go to the WE control panel and open the apps menu, the arrow down to the Outlook Enhance app, you should be able to check if the Message

check that the windows live mail app is installed and running. its the app that announces the status. not the live mail set files. try reinstalling the wlm package. it includes both the set files and the app. also when you have to reload w e while wlm is running the status will not be spoken
