I also still use WE and will as long as it will work. The microsoft

stuff about screen readers and everything else as well.

I have some news. After staying on hold for about two-and-a-half hours, I
told the guy my problem, and he said "That's weird". I asked him if he
wanted to remote into my computer, and he said: "I can only remote into
your computer if you are using jaws. We don't support window eyes anymore.
I said that was interesting, because when the person answered the phone when
I called and asked me what help I needed, I said I needed somebody who could
help me with window eyes, so she gave me his line. I was given to
understand that they would help you with window eyes for a while. But
apparently, they have already stopped, according to the person I got. Pam.

While it might not hurt to take the JAWS offer, no one should be made to
feel foolish for not doing it, regardless of one's own opinion. Whether to
switch to JAWS or not is Butch's prerogative.

Personally, I could not take advantage of the offer due to my version of WE
being out of date. Voc Rehab came through for me, only because I'm in a job
search and told them WE was going away, and I needed JAWS in the job search,
so my counselor was able to justify the expense. Now, I've just got to see
if they can get the registration in my name, as, right now, it's registered
to the Rehab agency, since that was what was on the P.O.

Now, I've got both on here, and can switch at will between Window-Eyes,
JAWS, NVDA or Narrator.

It's good to have choice, but, that is what choice is all about.

After all, NVDA isn't made by God. As I said, if you never use Jaws, you

Hi:

Let's face it. The Window-eyes ship is sinking and VFO is offering
us a lifeboat, albeit for a limited time, so unless you want to go
down with the ship, or try to swim through the ocean, you'd better
grab a spot in one of the available lifeboats, (I.E. JAWS, NVDA, etc.
Not that i don't use Window-eyes myself, but I am using NVDA more and
more and when I get my JAWS license, I will probably use Window-eyes
less and less. She was a good ship, but she's gone now. Thanks to
that big iceberg, the VFO takeover.

Hi Orlando:

This has been my experience also. WE still works, to a degree, but, with
the video driver issue, there are drawbacks to using it with Insider builds.

However, with the current stable version of Windows 10, WE is working just
fine. I'm typing this right now with WE rocking along. In fact, I have
been accostumed to the way WE works with Outlook, and it took a bit of
playing around before I got JAWS to approximate it.

I've been in the Windows 10 insider preview program almost since its
inception. Window-eyes has not worked for me using the past four insider
previews, including the latest creator edition. I get video driver error
tones upon launching Window-eyes, and many programs containing cursor and
text on the screen are no longer read with the Window-eyes curso or mouse
pointer.
Believe me, I was one of the most reluctant Jaws migrants. But upon
experiencing this Window-eyes behavior, and knowing it would never be
addressed with Window-eyes no longer in development, I had to keep working.
All of you who think Window-eyes will work indefinitely in Windows 10 have

Hi, I get those tones sometimes also, but they have not affected the

your computer if you are using jaws.

RE: Good Bye

2017-07-25 Thread via Talk

I've been in the Windows 10 insider preview program almost since its

previews, including the latest creator edition.
All of you who think Window-eyes will work indefinitely in Windows 10 have
obviously not yet encountered the insider previews or most current creator

RE: Good Bye

2017-07-25 Thread via Talk

I'm almost with you Butch. I didn't get to start until 1984, and for a
while, no access tech other than a TI 99/4A. Fun stuff. I have even been
able to emulate the TI using MAME. A weird experience, but, it can be fun.
And, it is actually emulated pretty well, from what the few 99'ers out there
say.

And this is where I wish I'd had the money to keep my SMA current so that I

After all, NVDA isn't made by God. As I said, if you never use Jaws,
you can not come up with a rational justification for not taking
advantage of a free offer.

Hi:

Let's face it. The Window-eyes ship is sinking and VFO is offering us a
lifeboat, albeit for a limited time, so unless you want to go down
with the
ship, or try to swim through the ocean, you'd better grab a spot in
one of
the available lifeboats, (I.E. JAWS, NVDA, etc.
Not that i don't use Window-eyes myself, but I am using NVDA more and
more
and when I get my JAWS license, I will probably use Window-eyes less and
less. She was a good ship, but she's gone now. Thanks to that big

Re: Good Bye

2017-07-25 Thread Kevin Huber via Talk
Hi:

Let's face it. The Window-eyes ship is sinking and VFO is offering us
a lifeboat, albeit for a limited time, so unless you want to go down
with the ship, or try to swim through the ocean, you'd better grab a
spot in one of the available lifeboats, (I.E.

Hi Pastor:
I understand your decision to leave the list and I wish you good luck.

to the person who asked if Window-eyes will work with Windows 10
Creator's addition,
>From what I remember, Doug said a while ago that Window-eyes will work
with the fall Creator's version of Windows 10, but one of us will
have to test it.

2017-07-25 Thread Russ Kiehne via Talk
I'm interested in knowing if window eyes will work with windows 10 creators
fall edition? I hear it will be released in September. Perhaps someone who
is using the windows 10 insider version and tell us if it's working at this
point in time?
