Hey Martijn,
Was hoping you guys would add zoom 19 to the recent update. Submitted a few
months ago on the feedback tool already.

This is the correct list. Ideally you could include building outlines as
well as addresses in your project. This might be a good project to involve
other mappers. Doing the work in small chunks should help improve data
quality. We've found that the street names can differ from not only what

Joe,
Could you confirm that we have the right to trace the 2015 Air Photo

I ran a few selections and queries to compare OSM data with the Dakota County
street centerline data. Basically, looking for alignment differences and
mostly for new streets not yet in OSM. Focused on local streets. I posted
them on Github for anyone with time to download and edit into OSM -
Hi Charlotte, good to hear from you, hope all is well!
Essentially, yes to all that (except I'm not sure on landuse=conservation);
looks 'depreciated' via http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:landuse
As far as how to 'properly tag' the various types of 'National' protected

This is really sad.
Russ,
I think you have come closest to a good
general description of something with multiple
uses. Yes, above all, U.S. national forests are protected.
So, does that mean that tagging is
boundary=protected_area and landuse=conservation,
along with, of course, tagging of
Not sure if this is the right ML to ask on, but I couldn't find a
missouri-specific list.

Hi all,
The OSM Foundation has an open position for a part time administrative
assistant to the board of directors (on which I sit).
We have a blog post that talks about it[0] which has a link to the job
description and explains how to apply as well. Please consider applying if you

Arun,
Road classification has been discussed at length on this list, most recently I
think in a lengthy thread started last September by Toby.
There is no guideline for the United States that would unambiguously map every
road to a class in OSM. Several pages on the wiki take a stab at this,
Hi all,
ImproveOSM has just seen a data refresh that I thought I’d let you know about.
We ran the latest GPS data against OSM data from May 4 and the results are live
on the ImproveOSM web site and JOSM plugins. That said, don’t hesitate to let
me know if you find data you think is incorrect
While adding missing turn restrictions in SF using Mapillary around Market
Street, i noticed that the classification of many of the roads seem
inconsistent, especially since someone had retagged Market as tertiary
(from primary?) after traffic restrictions that came into effect last year.

Hi Greg and all,
Sorry, I either need a refund on that Forestry degree or have to call this out
as incorrect:
Perhaps the problem here is the multiple roles that the the US Forest Service
plays. Note that that name is from the olden days. Now the service is know
as the National Park
