Re: Sub-filters?..

2004-08-22 Thread MAU
Hello Alexander,

M Just assign a message to a colour group and check for it in a
M subsequent filter.
Second check will failed - some actions was (?) accumulated and applied
 only after last filter's check

Color group marking is in this list

H! I was pretty sure that could be done (at least with some previous
version of TB), but maybe I'm wrong.

Re: Converted filter always produces a match

2004-08-22 Thread MAU
Hello Michael,

However, for other purposes, I would like to understand if Regex can
be used (and how) with the 'match' condition.

As I understand it (from the German translation of the GUI) the
match condition is using regexp search, the contain is the same
 without regexp.

That seems reasonable. Match uses Regex (if present) and contains
doesn't. Will have to confirm by testing. Thanks.

Re: My first approach to NFS. A few questions

2004-08-22 Thread MAU
Hello 9Val,

 3.- Sub-filters. What's the idea of sub-filters?

Sub-filters are solution for easy groupping filters and perform common
actions without creating separate filters. In example, all messages
from TBBETA go to a beta folder. Subfilter(s) assign priorities and
colour groups based on subjects. So, I have TBBETA folder with
colourized messages and all filters in one place for easy editing and
 easy flow control.

How it works? If message matches filter criteria, all actions are
performed and sub-filters continue eating message and so on

So, if I understand correctly, sub-filters are only executed if the
parent filter does produce a match. Correct? If so, I think it is a very
nice idea and smart design.

4.- Order of actions execution. Are actions executed in the order they
 are listed, yes or no?
I think they currently are not executed in the order, but they should.
Maybe its a bug, only Ritlabs does know (I guess).

M 9Val, where are you? :)

Since Beta/7 should. Only exception is moving. Moving message doesn't
loose relation with it, so all other actions are applied as usually.

I'm about to download Beta/7 and test :). Thank you

5.- Selective download filters. Where are they?
 Don't know, missing them too.

M 9Val?

Tired but alive :) Selective download filters currently don't fit into
 NFS, but work in progress

Thanks for all your clarifications.

Source folder(s) when converting to NFS

2004-08-22 Thread MAU
Hello all,

I have seen that no Source Folder is included in any filter when
converting from OFS to NFS and I think they should, at lest for Read and
Replied filter. I will explain why.

Not including (converting) the source folder Inbox for Incoming filters
should no be a problem (although it may be a bit confusing for some
users when upgrading and converting) because Incoming filter ONLY apply
to Inbox (Correct?).

Same thing for Outgoing and Outbox.

But what happens with Read and Replied filters? I have a number of both
of them where the Source Folder _is_ important. I have different Read
filters for different folders and their actions _are_ different. Same
for some Replied filters.

So, I have a question and a suggestion for (at least) Read and Replied
filters.

The question: If no source folder is included in a Read or Replied
filter, does this mean it can be triggered when reading or replying a
message in _any_ folder?

The suggestion: Specially if the answer to my question above is 'yes', I
think that the Source Folder should be included when converting from OFS
to NFS. At least for Read and Replied filters.

TB! UI Bug in the Sorting Office

2004-08-22 Thread DZ-Jay
Hello:

I recently discovered this UI bug in the Sorting Office:

When you have more than one rule sets in the Alternatives tab, the combo box for the
Location field of any set above the last one is hidden behind the next set, and
therefore you cannot choose anything lower than text (which itself is half-way
hidden behind the next set).

I'm sure a screenshot will explain it better:
http://premium.caribe.net/~dz/TB_UI_bug.gif

The bug is circled in red, and shows that almost half the combo box is hidden from
view and innaccessible.

P.S Don't mind the black squigglies, its my attempt to hide any personal info not
relevant to the bug :)
