TBBETA farewell letter
Dear TBBETA subsribers, In this farewell letter I just want to let you know that I step down and leave Ritlabs today on Math 25th, 2020. I’m leaving because I would like Stefan Tanurcov to lead the company, and, of course, to speed up The Bat! development, to take The Bat! to new heights, not only in features, but in stability and user friendliness, as well as developing new beautiful kinds of software. My email address m...@ritlabs.com will no longer be available, but you will be able to contact me via maxim.masiu...@gmail.com or other email that I will provide in future. The address maxim.masiu...@gmail.com is temporary. I always wrote that I don’t like global email providers like this one. I always thought that each company, and even a serious professional, can and should keep own email server. Other employees keep working at Ritlabs. In this letter I would like to express my gratitude to all the people with whom I worked more than 20 years. This letter is an opportunity to share my appreciation for everyone I was able to work with, for example, email professionals, email fans, emailaholics international, etc. I express my thanks to all the people who contributed to The Bat! Development, mostly to The Bat! Testers and honorable supporters. I appreciate and thank all our colleagues from TBBETA for the help and support. I thank you all for your love, support, care, kindness and help in The Bat! development. I express my sincere prayers and wishes! I will miss you much in future, and would like to reiterate how valuable you are. -- Best regards, Maxim Masiutin 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

Does your CPU support hardware SHA1 acceleration?
Hello Tbbeta, Does your CPU support Intel SHA extensions? These are instructions introduced on Intel Goldmont microarchitecture. AMD added support in their processors for these instructions starting with Ryzen. There are seven new SSE-based instructions, four supporting SHA-1 and three for SHA-256. You can run The Bat! with /SHA1_BENCHMARK command-line parameter to figure out whether your CPU supports SHA1 acceleration instructions, for example: thebat64.exe /SHA1_BENCHMARK On my computer, running The Bat! as above gives the following results: --- SHA1 benchmark --- 150 data blocks of 1024 bytes took 1.3579 seconds to process by SHA1 using CPU instructions (hardware), 1078.7605 Megabytes per second; 2.1496 seconds to process by software implementation, 681.4596 Megabytes per second --- OK --- Could you please post your results here? Thank you in advance. -- Best regards, Maxim Masiutin 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

9.0.16.9 new images
Please review 9.0.16.9 new command images (used in menus and toolbars). You may see 16x16 versions of each image in menu unless you have 175% or higher DPI (in this case 32x32 images are used in menus). If DPI differs from 100%, the images are scaled up or down (unless DPI is 200% - in this case, for small images (e.g. in menus) only 32x32 versions are used, and for the big images (e.g. in toolbars) the images are scaled up). If a particular image in the menus look small for you, you can configure it on a toolbar to see a larger version. If some images are not self-explanatory (e.g. it is not evident what they do), or are confusing, perplexing, etc. – please let us know. Your ideas are welcome on how to improve the images for better association with the underlying command or action. 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
