Hello Johan, Historians believe that Wednesday, October 24, 2001 at 08:34 GMT +0200 was when, Johan Svahn [JS] typed the following: JS Is it possible to apply a template to all the subfolders of a folder? Unfortunately, no. JS I want to change the tempalte of a folder, do 'i have to redo it JS for all the subfolders too? Yup. But you can make your life a lot easier by using quick templates. Make your template just like normal, but make it a quick template. Then in your folder templates, use %QINCLUDE=quick template name This requires a little extra work in the beginning, but next time you want to change the templates, you only have to change one template: the quick template. -- Thanks for writing, Januk Aggarwal Using The Bat! 1.54/10 under Windows 98 4.10 Build A All science is either physics or stamp collecting. -- E. Re-Scan msg base for Attachment status?
Hey TBUDL, I have a folder that has messages with attachments (mostly code examples) and I have removed most of the attachments from the Attach dir. Is there any way to update the Attachments icon to indicate that I can delete that message without having to look at each message? I usually have a couple thousand to scan every few months and even arrowing down the list at 3-4 per second takes time, and is hard on the wrist g. Re: Template to subfolders
Hello Johan, At 2:34 AM on Wednesday, October 24, 2001 you wrote the following on the posted subject 'Template to subfolders': Johan Is it possible to apply a template to all the subfolders of a folder? Johan I want to change the tempalte of a folder, do 'i have to redo it Johan for all the subfolders too? This is not a direct answer to your question but you might consider grouping AB entries (that may cross many folders) create templates for the AB group. This method can potentially include many folders. For example Let's say you have a personal mail folder. Except for personalized greetings, any new msg or reply to any of these people (some of whom might have separate folders) could be addressed in a 'friendly' way vs the more formal greetings of business correspondence. All your 'personal' correspondence can be filtered to subfolders by person or country or whatever criteria you select but the AB entries (all in a personal AB group) would have one template. So no matter where your cursor lands, if you select one of those names to create a new msg or to reply to an old one the one template will come into play. I hope this makes sense I've explained it correctly.. I believe TB! looks @ templates in the following order: AB entry AB group Folder Default -- Jan Rifkinson Ridgefield, CT USA TB! Size and complexity of mail database
The Bat! has worked out extremely well for me, and I think I'm going to keep (i.e., register) it as my mailer. But I have one question before I take that plunge: I use two accounts intensively, and when I load TB! I load a group that has both accounts as members. On my screen and processing mail at the same time, therefore, is one account that has about 35-40 folders, and another account that has about 10 folders. Some folders have upwards of 50 messages plus attachments (stored within the message bodies), but some folders have only 5 or so messages. I compress my folders regularly. My question is whether I should be worried about any corruption or indexing problems with a structure like this.
