I have not used BCCs in The Bat!, so I don't know if by doing so, the recipients' addresses are suppressed. Recipients' Addresses Suppression
Hello Is there a method in The Bat! which allows one to send the same e-mail to a group of people, but the e-mail addresses are suppressed in each of the e-mail received? I had for many years used Pegasus Mail, and it has what is known as distribution lists, in which one can enter e-mail addresses either directly or selected from the address book, but the e-mail sent out does not have the e-mail addresses of the recipients; it will show an e-mail address invented by the sender when creating the distribution list, in an e-mail address format, e.g., recipi...@group.org, which address, I believe, is linked to the addresses entered into the distribution list. I have checked the help files of The Bat! but could not find anything pertaining to this. Have I overlooked anything? -- Best regards, Chew Yoke Lim mailto:ylche...@gmail.com Current version is 4.2.4 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

TB uses the From address for the selected account, the only time it's using something else is when you override that or when you're mailing from a common folder. Probably the default has been selected in the account properties as "Use this account as the default for mailto URLs" (Account -> Properties -> General) Try to disable that. You also might try ti configure the account to use the smtp server and e-mail address for one of your other accounts. The last solution would be to move all of the folders belonging to the disposed account to a common folder (or a folder belonging to another account) and delete the empty account. -- Groetjes, Roelof I can resist everything except temptation. http://www.voormijalleen.nl/ The Bat! 4.2.4 Windows Vista 6.0 Build 6001 Service Pack 1 6 pop3 accounts, 1 imap account OTFE enabled Quad Core 2.4GHz 4 GB RAM pgpotBxCQqhzG.pgp Description: PGP signature Current version is 4.2.4 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

How to kill a zombie identity in the from field
Hello Everyone, I disabled one of my accounts as it received too much spam. The account still exists for the history but will not be used anymore for sending or receiving emails. I cannot find a way to stop the auto-suggestion to come up with my now deleted address on top. I went to my address book and took out the offending email but no luck, it still happens. Clicking on the from field to use the down arrows on the side and then going down to the offending address to delete it, does not work either. I believe this works in the To: field but not here. How else can I get rid of this remnant. At present with the account no longer configured to have a server address, no emails will be sent (which is good) but it is annoying that the account is chosen by the system without good reason and I have to manually override this each time. -- Best regards, Tom using TheBat! 4.0.28.3 on XP Current version is 4.2.4 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

TheBat 4.2
I use TheBat 4.0 Pro (but I am not using it to create this message -- long story and not relevant to my question). How do I determine whether upgrading to 4.2 is free? I have no record of a registration code for 4.0, and I am normally very careful about keeping a record of registation codes. I can find a serial number in TheBat's Help>About. I also have a longer serial number that must be for 3.0. The download web site states, "The Bat! version 3 registration keys purchased before November, 20, 2007 are valid for The Bat! 4.0 but not for 4.2, according to the upgrade policy published on November 7, 2007."
