Version 2
How do I switch the view so the HTML is tabbed behind the plain text version of an email? I did that with the lower version and cannot find the option with the new version. Elaine Current version is 2.00 | Using TBUDL information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

How do I switch the view so the HTML is tabbed behind the plain text version of an email? I did that with the lower version and cannot find the option with the new version. I found it fast after this popped into my mailbox. HTML orange and black color codes removed Massive Men Hammer Tiny Women Free! Click here! recieve no more And the idiots can't even properly spell receive in the supposed link for removal ha!. I do SO detest HTML surprising me (and I'm a great-grandmother who has been surprised a LOT in her life). WHY has such a default been set into the program? I have been using K9 for spam control. Is the new version of TB going to give me the same spam/junk control? Do I need to train the TB control as I have trained K9? Which list/forum is the best place to ask questions about this new upgrade? How many have moved on and how many have sat back to see what idiots like me find out the hard way? big grin Elaine A good deed never goes unpunished. --Gore Vidal Current version is 2.00 | Using TBUDL information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Re: Version 2
I've moved on and am enjoying this version. There are many others. I among many others don't yet consider ourselves idiots for having upgraded. Thanks, Allie. I'll continue to reserve judgment about my own intelligence in upgrading. Self-taught approaching-70 computer users should probably keep company with Gates who seems to have inspired the whole world to think in terms of XP-blues/hues. If I didn't so loathe HTML in email MS probably would have me. Best, Elaine Current version is 2.00 | Using TBUDL information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Re: The Bat! v2 Upg Price of $17.50 until October 31, then what?
On Sunday, September 7, 2003, you wrote A Scheduler. If you think you will or may have interest in these features then I strongly suggest upgrading since the current functionality from v1.62 is preserved and improved upon in some instances. Of course there'll be a few having problems as will always be the case with a major upgrade. Thanks for your comments, Allie. The scheduler, perhaps. The rest, most likely not. I will probably purchase during the discount period, but stick it out for awhile with the Christmas edition. I would miss seeing him smile. Re: The Bat! v2 Upg Price of $17.50 until October 31, then what?
It may seem a bit rough on newer users, but it's not a major problem IMHO. The price could hardly be said to be extortionate. I have neither the patience nor the skill to work with a program that is not totally refined, or perhaps even a beta. However, I am on limited income and the half price is certainly much more reachable than the full price. Do people recommend that I obtain the download, pay for the upgrade, and remain with 1.62 until those who know far more than me have worked out the kinks? Re: The Bat! v2 Upg Price of $17.50 until October 31, then what?
If the current upgrade price of $17.50 goes to, for example, $25.00 (Personal/Private) while the full The Bat! v2 Personal/Private cost is $35.00, I would probably pay the $17.50 now rather than $25.00 later. Precisely. Not only would I, I would have to, because I will not be able to afford the full price *if* people think I need the new program later. Re: The Bat! v2 Upg Price of $17.50 until October 31, then what?
Sorry, folks, have now read today's thread, realize I freaked and panicked, that some here are considering what I am considering, a buy-now, use-later. How flakey is the new release? Elaine Current version is 2.00 | Using TBUDL information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Re: The Bat! v2 Upg Price of $17.50 until October 31, then what?
I can't believe that there are people who take it for a fair option to buy the upgrade now and only start using it in a couple of months. Think about it, how ridiculous is that? BIG-TIME ridiculous, but I am so accustomed to being squeezed by producers of almost-anything that I react as I usually do, try to do what's best for me while being squeezed. I haven't sprung yet, I also know Mozilla is out there and doing pretty well by its users. It's just that I like TheBat! (my version) and would dislike giving it up on principle. Re: Another Q on the Worm (Blaster)
I can't run it at all, since i can for the life of me not find the system restore thing on my Win XP Pro. Where should i look for it? Cymantec said you should turn it off, but as i said i can't even find it, so i don't know if i've got it. Right click on My Computer and ask for Properties, then click on the tab, System Restore. Disable it there. Be sure to reenable it when you are done using this tool. Elaine Current version is 1.62r | Using TBUDL information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html
Pop mail
I have been successful in downloading mail from safe-mail but unable to send. I am able to Pop3 download and send via yahoo. After contacting the techs at safe-mail they advised: Another customer of us has difficulties sending from TheBat, but finally he configured successfully. You should use the following configuration: Outgoing mail server: www.safe-mail.net This server requires secure communication: On Port: 465 This server requires authentication: On User name: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Password: You safe-mail account's password. But it isn't working. I am hoping the person who was successful is on the list and that he and others have some additional suggestions that will help me get this working. Re: Pop mail
Hi Thomas, I am also not so sure whether they know what they are doing. When searching the FAQ for Outgoing mail, I will be explained how to set up Outlook or other POP *servers* (enhancement by me) for POP: http://www.safe-mail.net/support/site/faq.html#qu_12 The settings you suggest are what I do have (not working). I am beginning to think they are not set up for a two-way system. The incoming mail is absolutely no problem, downloads right into TB! I just cannot send using that account. Since I am already receiving and sending yahoo using TB! it also strikes me that the problem must be at their end, not mine. I guess I will take one more stab at their technical support but I am beginning to have my doubts about this business. Re: client anti-spam options with The Bat!
D plugins that handle anti-spam *like* the mozilla email client D that plug into The Bat! ? Darren, What application are you referring to? Please post the name or URL. http://channels.netscape.com/ns/browsers/default.jsp Note the comment: Why Upgrade? Get more from your browser. Now with Junk mail filtering and improved pop-up blocking. Tell Me MoreĀ» A friend is using it and says it requires a bit of training (as do all such programs to my knowledge) and that it is working well. Re: Support for creating HTML message?
Is support for creating simple HTML messages coming down the pipe any time soon? My son wants to be able to create the color messages, big fonts, etc. that his friends are doing with OE. It's already in the BETA versions that are being tested at the moment... so yes... it's in the pipes ;) Oh darn! another one... :( Why wouldn't those who want such things simply go to OE and get them? Reminds me of non-smokers and non-drinkers who insist on using tobacco shops and bars, then demanding that they cease and desist in being what they are supposed to be.
