Sorry I sent a screenshot last night but it must have been too large. Under the menu bar that has bold, italics etc there is another menu that has

There is also an insert symbol in both the HTML editor and test editor that should work, but it seems to be a bit messed up.

You can just use BCC instead of the To: field for the list. You may still have to put your address in the To: field though.

Hmmm. Unfortunately I find that depending on the ISP and probably what IMAP
platform they use, that filtering is a bit flaky. I have some accounts that
will
automatically filter my messages 90 % of the time, but then refuse to filter
identical messages no matter what I do. Its like The Bat just quits filtering
at

I also come up against the ones that don't filter automatically, but filter
just
fine with re-filter.

It works here. I wonder if it matters if account b is below account a in the

Moving IMAP servers

Hello Tbudl,

I need to change my email accounts from one provider to another. They are
IMAP
and I don't want to lose the email in those accounts. Any suggestions.

If I change the existing IMAP account in The Bat to point to the new servers
will the email in that account disappear because there is no mail on the new
server to sync, or will the local mail I have sync up to the new server.

What if I back my local account up, rename that account, create a new account
with the same name and then restore the backup work?

Help???

When you forward a message you get a pop -up that has a lot of choices
including
whether of not to include attachments and whether it is test or HTML. You may
want to play with those. The other option is to redirect instead of forwarding.
That usually leaves things as they initially were.

You should be able to add a subfilter that would forward by selecting only the
folder that the messages were moved to.

asd,

 sdf,

Hello TBUDL,

asd, sdf, dfg, asd

Unfortunately when I export this is ends up like this.

asd, sdf, dfg, asd

This seems to be the way the program sending the file represents it.

Is there a way using the macro %REGEXPTEXT="" to fix this?

I'm not sure about that option, but you could use TB's filtering features to
move files to a separate folder based on the number of emails or the age of
the
emails. This could be an archive folder and you could just unsubscribe that
folder.

I agree though that there seems to be something wrong with IMAP in general.
Things take too long to download, much longer than they used to before the
major
IMAP upgrade. Large amounts of data seem to get downloaded even though nothing
has changed since the last update.

Another thing I just discovered, and I wonder if you or someone else could test
it. I picked a folder that had over 1000 messages in it and right clicked on
the
folder and selected empty folder. It appeared to empty the folder and it is
now in the process of downloading every message again. In other words the local
folder was emptied and now it is filling it up again, instead of emptying the
folder on the server and then syncing the empty folder.

Also as mentioned earlier filtering messages seems to be hit and miss.

Yes. You can set up different view modes and then assign them to your folders
as
you see fit. See Options/Preferences/Message List/View Modes . Create a new
view
mode and save it. For example I have one view mode for Incoming mail, one for
Sent mail and one for mailing lists. Once you have saved the view modes, you
can Right-click on a folder and select the Folder View mode you want to assign.
It is important to note that you need to set View/Global View Mode to None, or
it will over-ride all view modes.

Duh! I am SO stupid. I was trying to send email from a different email address

If I want to use that key with all email accounts, can I add additional email

Well I'm glad it wasn't just me who couldn't get GnuPG Shell to work. I've

As I said, my keys were saved by default (when I installed GnuPG) to Documents

that via "OpenPGP -> Preferences-> Files, but I'm still getting the "secret key

I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I've used PGP/GnuPG for years under

GnuPG - where do my keys need to be?

2009-07-30 Thread Carren Stuart

Hello

I've installed GnuPG and GnuPG Shell as the front-end but I cannot get it to
work with TB. I've created my keys which I can see in the key manager, but when
I try to sign/encrypt an email I get a "no secret key found" message (or words
to that effect).

When I created the keys they defaulted to Documents and
Settings\username\application date\gnupg - I pointed TB to that directory but
it makes no difference.

Can someone give me a walk through with this? I'm not new to PGP/GnuPG so I
should be able to do this - it's driving me nuts!

Setting SPAM filter to run after other filters

2009-07-26 Thread Carren Stuart

Hi

I'm using the built in BayesIT spam filter which works pretty well, but is
there some way of setting it to filter incoming mail AFTER my other filters
have run? In spite of me attempting to train it to recognise TBDUL mail as "not
junk" - much of my list mail is still ending up in the junk folder. If I run a
"re-filter" on the folder my custom filters happily put the mail back where it
should be, but it's a major pain to have to do it this way.

I'm probably missing something really obvious but whatever it is I'm just not
"getting it".

Bingo! Somewhere along the way whilst trying to get this to work I had tried
doing it via an address book template - which I couldn't get to work - and then
promptly forgot about it. Once I deleted the address book template, the common
folder one worked.

Which is the recommended/best way to set these up for things like mailing
lists? Is it better to use a folder template or an address book template or
does it make no difference as long as you only use one?

P.S How can I make my sig darker/more readable? I can't find anywhere within
template set ups to change the font size/colour.

Common folder templates

2009-07-03 Thread Carren Stuart
Hi

Since spending several years away from TB! I seem to have forgotten everything
I ever knew about creating templates.

I have a common folder set up for a mailing list and have the following reply
template set up:

 Hello %OFromFName,

%ODateEn, %OTimeLongEn, you wrote:

%Quotes
%Cursor

 %FromFNamemailto:%FromAddr

However it doesn't work. If I reply to a list email (filtered to that common
folder) - I get a blank message with no quoted message, greeting or anything.

What am I doing wrong?

Connection Centre randomly hanging

2009-06-29 Thread Carren Stuart
Hi

Nice to be back :-)

I have just recently installed the Home Edition v.4.2.6.
Every so often when checking for new mail the connection centre hangs - with no
information showing - and will not close unless I close TB! itself. My mail
checks in the background so I am not always watching what it is doing but I
will often close a window and find the hung connection centre hiding behind it.

I am on dial up but I don't think this is related to connection
speed/time-outs. I haven't been using TB! for some years but I seem to recall a
previous version that had this problem. Is anyone else experiencing it with
this latest version? Anyone any suggestions for how to fix it?
