Hello TBUDL'ers, I am completely flummoxed by the search function. It does not seem to make any sense and although it seems to be intuitive, apparently it isn't. Specifically, I was searching for a three letter string (lwv) and it returned dozens and dozens of "hits", none of which appeared to contain that three letter string. I used all the criteria available (text, header, any, etc.) and although the results were different, none of the hits contained the string. When I choose to see the RFC-822 header information, my preview window suddenly has two new tabs at the bottom, one named HEADERS and the other named TEXT. Clicking on the HEADERS tab shows only the header information in the preview pane. I have to click on TEXT to see the actual message preview. However, thanks to your superior knowledge in the intricacies of all things TB!, you have led me to the solution. To wit: ALL of the resulting hits in the search were all sent as HTML files. Guess what my default browser is. That's right, Chrome. All of the HTML files contain one or more instances of the string "google" thereby meeting the search criteria. So, many thanks Miguel. Siebern regarding TB! not being able to access Gmail after March 31st reminded me that I too had received a message from Google regarding March 31st. Only my message was to inform me of the following: This is a reminder that on April 2, 2019 we’re shutting down consumer Google+ and will begin deleting content from consumer Google+ accounts. Photos and videos from Google+ in your Album Archive and your Google+ pages will also be deleted. However, I had to manually search through several different TRASH folders to find the message. This is because when I tried to use TB!'s search function to find messages which had the string "google" in it, it always returned many hits, most of which, if not all, did not contain that string. I used the criteria "ANY PART" or "TEXT" or "SENDER" assuming that that's where that string would be. Although my message from Google did not mention TB!'s permission to fetch mail from Google, The March 31st deadline was contained in the message. That aside, does anyone know why the search function would return so many invalid hits? Search function freezes
I am running TB 5.4 on Win 8/64 It has been running without problem until recently the search function (F7) freezes on searching a particular account. In that account I have noticed that some emails cannot not be read and there is a popup which says "Cannot read the base header". I was wondering if this is causing the problem and if so is there a way to rebuild the messages. Currently there are over 1200 messages in it. Help would be appreciated. Regexp in search function ?
Hi fellow Bats, I have been trying to search for multiple items using the search option under Tools-search-advandced but I can't hack it. I have the dark suspicion that I have to option regex. What I would like to do is search for something like the words Red and Blue must be present but not the word Black. Red and Blue not Black Is this possible?
