An interesting tid-bit, the Texas Caver is banned by the Texas Department
of Criminal Justice, Prison Division...
Too many articles about digging and back in the day we had articles about
the use of explosives for micro-shaving and what not. They frowned on it
and asked us not to send anymore...
Greetings Cavers -
Please join me in congratulating, Linda Palit, Juliana Rincón, Ken
Demarest, Greg Mosier, and Andy Edwards as they are our your new Texas Cave
Management Association Board members! They will begin three year terms
starting January 1st, 2018.
The TCMA exists because of our
The enthusiasm is great! Jules is also running for the TCMA board and I
plan to vote for her.
Something I've been thinking about for a while. It would be awesome if
folks would pick one Texas caving board to support. They are all working
boards and need as much time as folks can contribute.
There is super secret caving business we need to discuss!

Cheers!

Channeling Captain Obvious here... This would not be the best weekend to
explore your favorite central Texas water cave!

Repost of my comments for those among us not on BookFace.
A) Fending for ourselves disrupts the communal nature of the Saturday
evening meal. If we end up going this route it would be important to
continue with Saturday evening activities that encourage everyone to come
together.
B) Catering

I'm pretty sure Linda Palit is a Texas Caver...
*"Number from the Texas Caver is 210.865.2061 <210.865.2061> Texas Caver**I've
called both the TSA and the Texas Caver numbers to see if there was a caver
associated with them and there was not."*

“It doesn’t matter if the glass is half empty or half full. There is
clearly room for more wine.”
We are having our annual wine tasting on Friday night! We will be down by
the water just up river from the main lodge. We will start around 6:30pm
and go until whenever. Look for the horde of

Many thanks to everyone for this effort. I'll make a personal donation of
$100 should it be needed.
Two questions, why isn't a group like the TSA taking care of the total
cost? They have ample funds and this type of thing seems right up their
alley...
The other is how
Tom Brown has been the/a contact.

It needs to be least the 3' high dorm fridge or a larger one.

Keeping things consistent has its appeals for the more anal retentive of us
in the group. I support the third weekend of October for the date.
Water is always nice at a site but not a requirement. Some of the folks

I read that this morning on the plane. Made me giggle. Reporters are
under time crunches and unless they are familiar with a topic take a sound
bite and run with it. San Antonio lost a great environmental reporter a
year or so ago. He is currently hiking/paddling the entire Rio Grande.

There will once again be an informal wine tasting on Friday night near the
Bexar Grotto campground. I'd say starting around 6:45ish but things are
flexible and we may start drinking earlier or later, who are we kidding, It
will be earlier!
To participate please bring a bottle
Just saw the commercial as my plane was landing. Interesting but brief shot of

Thanks Frank. Interesting to know why Golondrinas appears in a video game

Christi Burrell held the contact for the past decade or so until the long
time owners sold about a year ago. I'd ask that folks give her time to try
to reestablish contact (maybe through Igor) before they try to arrange
their own.
She was always very good about taking other groups out there.
Ediger gives a nice talk about why the TSA really should or does encompass
all people in Texas that like caves, not just the ones that pony up
membership dues. Perhaps he will post it here for our review...
