It is C++/Qt and is probably free, though I haven't looked at the license
yet.
Indeed it looks nice and the UI is very responsive. It has import/export
from Survex (.svx) and Compass(.dat). No Therion import unfortunately. I

A bit delayed, but here is the setup that I use.
My tablet is an 8" Samsung Note 8. Not very compact, but it is very nice
for drawing due to the larger screen. It is as large as an A5 piece of
paper, so I didn't find the switch from paper drawing cumbersome. It can be
held in one hand while
Thanks for the info.
I doubt that I will be able to fix it and recompile Therion myself, so I
guess I'll use latin only for the moment
Probably it is related not only to the filenames, becase I see such
characters distorted also in the therion compile log. Those come from team
member names
Thanks for the advice. I just checked the Locale to make sure, but it is
set to Bulgaria.
I doubt that setting to US or something else will help either.
Maybe therion is not compiled with Unicode support and the characters don't
get passed correctly.

Hi
Is there a way to use Cyrillic characters in folder and file names? Maybe
it is a setting, which can be configured, but therion.exe doesn't seem to
handle them.
"therion.exe: error -- can't open file for input --

Hi
I am trying to display a depth bar on the extended profile that starts from
0. Not to show the altitude, but only the depth of the cave relative to the
entrance.
This is not a problem if I use the FIX command like:
centerline
cs long-lat
fix 1 11:22:33.3 22:33:44.4 1000 # fix point
Martin (or anyone else), do you know if this was supposed to be fixed in
v5.3.16?
I tested it and including languages in the "team" command text still produces
incorrect results.
Best

Well, yes, search and replace is an option. Notepad++ and many others can
do a replace in multiple files too, but a macro or a constant would still
be a nice feature.
But if its not planned or easy to do, I can live without it

Hi
Is there a way to join lines in the map editor while editing a scrap? Not
at compile time with the 'join' command but manually.
There is a "split line" command in the right-click menu, but not a "join
lines" one.
When importing data from TopoDroid I end up with a large number of short
Hi
In development languages I'm used to defining various constants values in
the files, but I couldn't find such in Therion
Have you considered adding this feature?
For example I use the cave name in several places in the .th and .thc
files. Then for the next cave I usually copy the
So, no ideas about this one? :)
Don't know if it is a bug or an error in my usage, but it is a bit annoying to
not be able to change team names in different languages like other texts :)

Well, maybe I'm not trying it correctly, but it still doesn't work for
me.
What you suggest works for "-text", "-title" and other options, but not for
the "team" section of the "centerline".
The syntax below

produces "Name English.lang:bg.Name
Hi
Is there a way to include names of team members in different languages?
E.g. my name in Cyrillic would spell differently than in Latin.
Something like this works:

but this does not work:
survey
centreline
team "Name EnglishName Bulgarian"

Thanks Bruce.
The exaplanation about the .xtherion.dat file was useful, as I didn't know
what it actually contains.
I will probably find use for those two files for large projects, but for
the current small ones I don't really need them. They don't take any space,
it is mostly a small
Thanks again. This is now working great

Well, I don't really know where to begin to draw a protractor in metapost

So if that source comes up and if public it would be great. Otherwise I
will use the current one.

Hello again
I wonder if I can make some modifications to the protractor
http://therion.speleo.sk/downloads/protractor.pdf and how to do them.
Can you tell me what program you used to draw the vector image? Is it something
automated or you drew everything manually?
The protractor is very
I did modify therion.ini and xtherion.ini, but I just didn't see them to
have any effect
Anyway, this is not a problem for the moment. I was mostly interested in
the GUI language.
Thanks for the help.

Thanks a lot, that helped with the language setting.
I tried editing both therion.ini and xtherion.ini, but I didn't notice this
line. Actually there were also therion.new.ini and xtherion.new.ini, which
I also tried.
So how about the other settings in those files, like the new project
Hello
I had used Therion briefly in the past and now installed the latest version for
Windows.
It is working well, but there seems to be a problem with the settings stored in
therion.ini and xtherion.ini.
My Windows language is Bulgarian, but I wanted the GUI in English, so I
uncommented the
