Tobias,
To you and for some members of the Tiddlywiki community, this quiz, as I

But in real life, without any button accessible, when you take a tasting

OkTobias,
Let me finish to clean a little bit my mess, and I will put (hopefully this
week end) my last trilingual quiz online so one can peruse the inner guts
of the beast, with, deep inside, the famous Eval filter by Tobibeer.
And for good mesure, a dash of your star Rating appendice.
Wonderful Tobias !
It worked immediately out of the box (despite of its "dark hole" aspect to
me !)
Thank you so much,
JCG

Hello,
I have some fields with numbers in them, ie {{!!field1}}=6 and
{{!!field2}}=9,
Using <$calc>, I can add the artihmetic content of those two fields :
{{!!field3}}=<$calc>{{!!field1}} + {{!!field2}}, which gives me
{{!!field3}}=15,
Now I want to extract the arithmetical value of
Oh my bad ! You should know of course.
I will plunge into Eval and try to trigger its filter potential.
Thanx

Hello,
This question is more for Tobias Beer, since I am using his Calc plugin and
that I saw once that he is also using Formspree form to send back result to
his mail address.
I made a quiz with x question. Each question has y options, to which I
attribute a note.
At the end of the quiz,
Thank you for your explanations.
It is certainly clearer, but I am still missing some points.
I understand that your modified tiddlywiki is embarking the "motor" for a
data base. Fine.
For me, any database contains records, each record with (pre?) defined
fields.
I saw that the database
Hi Danielo,
I must say that I am totally lost !
First you speak about Notestorm. Is it the same as David Gifford's ?
Apparently not, but what are the differences? Do you mean in fact NoteSelf ?
Second you say "NoteSelf does not require any installation". Fine, but what

Hello,
Encrypting a large TW results in a larger file, taking too long to decrypt,
while contening important and non important, but verbose, tiddlers.
Is there a way to encrypt only the "important" tiddlers earmarked with some
tag by using the encrypt button on the sub-menu Tools on the right
Hello,
I intend to use a read-only TW5 for non techies users with a quizz the
answers of which are sent by mail to me (via the Formspree platform,
https://formspree.io/).
But TW5 is too zealous in that case and browsers (Chrome and Firefox at
least) alert the reader that closing the

Hi,
In Tobias's example :
<$setvars foo="bar[7]" _bar="a b c d e f g h i j k">
<>
the widget give "g" as the answer, which is correct.
But, if instead of letters we put numbers as data, the widget does not
function properly.
Is it forbidden to use numbers or is it a bug ?
Thanks,
JCG

Well , I need to use a few (or many) zeros in my data. Then, the widget
looses its track
<$setvars foo="bar[7]" _bar="1 0 0 0 0 3 4 8 9 10">
<>
returns 10 (not 4)

@Tobias,
I had been testing your "split" plugin which does almost what I needed:

worried that the different extracts were de facto links, appearing as blue

Thank you Tobias,
Yes, version 0.5.3 works fine.
Of course it could become heavy when the majority of data bits are just a
letter, a number, an empty string or a word and just a few are sentences:

Yes; almost.
In fact it gives simultaneoudly both [[a:1011 0601 0606 0100 A000]]
and [[Trocadéro]].
Furthermore,
Thank you Tobias,
Yes, I understand that.
The funny thing (well not so funny in fact) is that I can affect variables
resulting from the fisrt or last split. But I cannot use those variables to
retrieve data from another data tiddler :
- Let say that the output of a "first split" is 1011 and
Hello,
Trying to "split" or "explode" a chain of characters extracted from a data
tiddler, I went to the original site Tiddlywiki.com and was happy to find
the splitbefore Operator.
Unfortunately, when pasting it to my site, nothing happens. Jeremy gives
plenty of examples, which do not work
Thank you both of you for your prompt answers.
Thank you Jed. So my guess was almost correct: the examples are built on a
site which contains much more than the one I downloaded. It would have been
better if such a tactic was explicitely explained on the examples tiddlers.
Thank you Tobias. I

Thank you Matabele,
It works perfectly with
<$transclude tiddler={{!!mydata}} index={{MySettings!!language}}
mode="block"/>
(remark: when using tiddler=<> as per your second exemple, I got a
transclusion error)
Thanks again,

Hello,
I wish to use a variable to extract a sentence from a data tiddler.
The user chooses his/her own language and from there he/she should obtain a
guide for a service in the right language.
Of course with the choice of language (choice ={{Language!!choix}} it easy

Hi Matabele,
I am still missing something.
The first solution, as it is, gives nothing useful to me.
The second proposal looks much more promising and gives {{Data1##fr}} if
the language chosen is French or {{Data1##zh}} for Chinese, after adding
the curly braces {{>}}.
But it does not
Hi,
While the tag $:/tag/sAboveStory still work properly with the last version
of TW5, its complement $:/tags/BelowStory is no longer *Below* but *Under*
the Story in zoom mode.
Any idea to put it back to its useful location ?
Thanks,

For your last question :
Also, how do you control how the date is formatted? The default output of
{{!!created}} is way more detailed than I want to display. I just need a
simple MM/DD/ format.
Just replace the line {{!!created}} by
$view field=created format=date
Jeremy,
Excellent ! That is a great step forward ! There is a definite need to
address the mobile tools, smarphones and tablets.
As you know, and upon your advice, I within the last three months worked

Cordova service by

process and follow up (balance, stock, etc.) ?

That's great, Jeremy,
How can I modify the code in order for a footnote tiddler (below the story
river) to be visible when in zooming view?
The problem appears only with a note below the river but not above the
river.

Thank you Danielo,
What do you mean with internal link? Any link within tiddlywiky will move
you to the top of the tiddler you're navigating to.
Well, links within tiddlywiki do not always move to the to the top of the
tiddler to be seen, if this one is longer than the screen.
It looks as
Hi,
In TW5 what is the equivalent of ViewTemplate in TWC, in order to not
publish the author and the modification date for each tiddler?
