So the short answer is that Firefox for Android can't do what I'm asking it to do. A kludgy workaround: write the code so that it displays the text "Open PDF". Knowing that it's a .pdf, I can hold the link to bring up the "right click" menu. The last choice is "Open With an App" -- this brings
