Totally agree with you, Eneko - which is why I have used it to create a
very unique ebook
The ability to format and deliver more attractive and appropriate content
leaves ePUB etc for dead.
Get a free copy of my wife's "tw-book" version of her book on my recent
post.
I would love to see what you are doing with your poetry.

[tw] TW5 eBook pre-release of "Spiritual Quest" - free copy.

2016-09-12 Thread John Newell
Hello to the wider tiddlywiki community - and thanks to the many who have
helped in various ways.
The EPUB version is now selling and the TW5 version will be hot on its
heels after a get a few "kinks" ironed out

In the meantime - here's TW version - https://payhip.com/b/JLBv
and the ePUB version for comparison - http://bit.ly/SQebook

The content is "almost" exactly the same - but the delivery, navigation ( &
navigability ) , imagery, readaibility, tag links etc create a very
different reading experience
( and that audio plays WITHIN the TW version )
- need to be internet connected for that to be active.

Feedback welcome

cheers and thanks - John Newell ( on behalf of my beautiful wife, the
author - Sandy Lee )

Re: [tw] Presenting: G-Comments - a comments feature based on Google Forms

2016-09-12 Thread Jan

Hi Mat,
thanks for your Comments-plugin, I modified it a little to implement it
to MetaTabs. You can see it at http://slidesnstories.tiddlyspot.com/ .
There it shows not in a popup at the top but in a tab at the bottom of
the tiddlers.
So far the demo-version there is also sending the comments to your
sheet. I could change this if it disturbs you.

There is two questions I have concerning the plugin.
- The "send"-button moves out of reach if you type to much, I wonder if
it is possible to get the Iframe scroll in the field.
- The other thing is even more important to me: How do you get the
Tiddlertitle in the sheet. I would like to have the possibility to
export the results of a survey and the content of the rate-field. Do you
think this would be possible?

Yours Jan

Long overdue, I'm happy to officially present G-Comments. It has been
used on TWaddle for a long time and
I've promised a proper writeup for it... so here it is:

G-Comments

It lets any visitor (without registration) add short comments on tiddlers.

It is based on Google's most excellent tool that everyone with a
google account has by default; *Google Drive */*Forms*./ This enables
you to easily create online questionnaires but G-Comments takes a
form, trims it down and squeezes it into a toolbar popup. All comments
are collected automatically into a spreadsheet.

Do please report any errors but I don't intend to /develop/ it
further. TWederation and TW NetWorks is infinitely more important and
will partially cover what G-Comments provides anyway.

[tw] Re: [TW5] Create Link from list results.

2016-09-12 Thread Tobias Beer
Hi Sven,

> Following you guidelines: What I still don't know is how to then append
> something to a variable already set.
>

Very simple: use a macro, that is what they do, mostly: string replacement.

\define bongo() bong
\define run(what) $what$-$(bong)$-<>

<$vars bong="bing">
<>

where the marker bits (marked in two different colors above) are coming
> from the result of a list (there could be dozens)

Ah, now I see. Mhhh, redefining a variable doesn't quite work, you kinda
need to know in the first place what you want.

However, with tobibeer/join &
tobibeer/filter as well as
the filter parameter of the SetWidget ,
you can achieve it:

\define maplurl() https:
//maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/staticmap?center=Brooklyn+Bridge,New+York,NY=13=600x300=roadmap$(markers)$

<$vars marker="=color: [get[color]] %7Clabel:
[get[title]removeprefix[$:/markers/]] %7C
[get[lat]] , [get[long]] +[join[]]">
<$set name="markers" filter="[prefix[$:/markers/]filterjoin[]]">
>/>

The above works with these two system tiddlers:

title: $:/markers/G
color: green
lat: 40.711614
long: -74.012318

title: $:/markers/S
color: blue
lat: 40.702147
long: -74.015794

So, the filter filter in the set widget runs the outer filter defined in
the variable "marker" as a subfilter and tobibeer/join joins it all up w/o
any blanks or separators.

You can try the above on tobibeer/plugins
.

Best wishes,

Tobias.

In deed. Still, even posting mere replies to stuff - as opposed to
announcing creations - suffers the same problem; it all drowns quickly,
possibly never to be resurrected or even found again. That is probably also
a discouraging factor for potential repliers here.

Naw, I'd say it is simply because we have not built a better solution.
Google groups is superior to no forum/knowledge base at all and better than
many other options. But it's not really good, for our purposes.

These problems are the absolute main reason why I keep talking about
TWederation / TW Networks. That would be a key infrastructure that opens up
for "everything" else. TW variations of "App store", "Wikipedia" etc.
Unfortunately, TWederation dev is currently passive as the key developer is
busy with other stuff and the assistant (that's me) is not versed enough in
the key components in it.

SPOT ON.

This group is very, very good and supportive for ongoing problem solving.

IMO its dire for suitably marking, collecting and advancing the BEST stuff
when its finished & launched.

It may be something about the purpose of here. You can't bully people. On
the other hand I'm convinced TW would be more widely used if there were
some kind of way to get more attention to good finished outputs. Not all
things are equal. And more attention to finalised stuff with good
functionality is, IMO, important. (1) to properly acknowledge the work
someone has done; (2) to get it used by others.

Best wishes

People keeping stuff for themselves is one problem. Another is that
announcements here drown in the discussions, often within 1-2 days, and are
not necessarily found again.

These are serious *infrastructure *problems that the TW project surely
suffers VERY MUCH from. We lack infrastructure that encourages people to
build and share stuff. I would be happy to elaborate if anyone asks me.

[tw] What happened to export story river?

2016-09-12 Thread David Gifford
Hi guys

You used to be able to choose between exporting a tiddler or exporting all
the tiddlers in the story river. This was nice for publishing static htmls.
Now it seems to be gone? "Export all" is now "export every tiddler in this
TW5." Any chance of bringing the "export story river" functionality back?

Re: [tw] Using the List Widget for OR Operations?

2016-09-12 Thread Jeremy Ruston
Hi Zaphod

Try this:

<$list filter="[has[posters]] [has[lobbycards]]
[has[disccovers]] [has[misc]] +[limit[1]]">

<$transclude tiddler="$:/_Layout_ButtonSection3"/>

Best wishes

[tw] Re: Using the List Widget for OR Operations?

2016-09-12 Thread PMario
Hi Zaphod,

There are always several methods to achieve something in TW. Using the list
widget as you do here is one of them.
IMO the $reveal widget in combination with the tw transclude mechanism and
the transclude widget would be a better fit here.

But this is my impression having a very fast view at the problem. So I'd
need to do some experiments - later today - to be sure.

have fun!

[tw] Re: Upgrade to 5.1.13 isssue

2016-09-12 Thread PMario
Hi Jason,

If you import a 5.1.5 TW into a 5.1.13 it needs to block the "incoming" old
core. So it imports all the content, but blocks 5.1.5 - That's what you
want. right?

[tw] Using the List Widget for OR Operations?

2016-09-12 Thread Zaphod Beeblebrox
Hello, everyone :)

I have been using the List Widget to great effect for determining whether
or not to display a particular item, section, link, etc., based on the
presence or lack of a certain field within a tiddler:

<$list filter="[has[zcheader]]">
{{!!zcheader}}:
{{!!zcomment}}

But now I've run into a dilemma with the last part of a template tiddler
that must make a choice of whether to display a section or not, depending
on whether ANY ONE of four different fields exist.

I just can't figure out the syntax to combine three list filters into one
(if that can even be done), nor does having three nested lists work.

Here's the (non-working) last test I made:

<$list filter="[has[posters]]">
<$list filter="[has[lobbycards]]">
<$list filter="[has[disccovers]]">
<$list filter="[has[misc]]">

<$transclude tiddler="$:/_Layout_ButtonSection3"/>

Can anyone shed some light on a solution?

Thankees in Advance :)

[tw] Re: [TW5] Create Link from list results.

2016-09-12 Thread Sven

Hi Tobias,
Thanks! This was already a very useful explanation.
Following you guidelines: What I still don't know is how to then append
something to a variable already set.
Looking at my example I need to create an URL like
https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/staticmap?center=Brooklyn+Bridge,New+York,NY=13=600x300=roadmap
=color:blue%7Clabel:S%7C40.702147,-74.015794=color:green%
7Clabel:G%7C40.711614,-74.012318
where the marker bits (marked in two different colors above) are coming
from the result of a list (there could be dozens)

Hence at some point I think I will have to be able to append something to a
variable already set

... and I don't know how to do it... :(
