But I think Bimlas' reply was good in underlining that, sooner or later, in
one way or another, you will have to deal with cross-OS issues even if
browsers work the same wherever. The universal browser will not solve it
once the OS

My second post. Your focus in the question is on "saving" in general. A way
to make it seamless.

I agree the various os platforms and sometimes the browser gives rise to
complexities.
However I am not prepared to accept there is not an answer to this yet. Some
complexity could be reduced through browser plugins and easy install scripts
built it. But I

The main problem is that there are different operating systems and
browsers, so you can't create a "generic" saver plugin: each system will
need different code to automatically save the wiki, and not all of them can
be implemented (because of restrictions to access the filesystem).

Very good posts, I think! Its not new territory, but its a good overview on
the conundrum to get TW working for end-users who just want to use it, not
get bogged down in its mechanics of saving.
There are a few things I can comment, though I can't give you a final
answer. More a series
*Things that we can assume users are comfortable with or know?*
- Downloading a file and saving or moving it to a folder they can find
again eg the documents folder
- Dragging a link to the bookmarks/favorites
- They know the browser they are using (We can test for this) and the
