Please keep the editing feature. What happened in my thread there (sorry)
is not typical and I find it very valuable to be able to correct things -
typically minor improvements to the text.
But the concern is that some percentage of the readers will *never see*

I'm beginning to see that this rather pernicious problem may lie behind
the decision of some groups to intentionally disable editing of posts
(perhaps except by administrators).

I'm not the expert on Google Groups, I'm afraid, but I guess these things
are documented in the Google

Only group managers should be able to do this.
I'd suggest we see how it goes first and if it's not working out or never
used (properly) it can be disabled again.
