A friend just got a C-MAC Sine 10MHz Double Oven Oscillator and asked
me to see if anyone here knows how to hook it up and get it working.

It's interesting to see what new uses old technology can be put to
when it gets small enough and inexpensive enough. In my caving days,
30 years ago, I wouldn't have wanted to drag an HP 5071A through a
cave :-)

Looks nice. Shame it doesn't go up to 500 MHz or more, though. If it
did, I'd probably buy one at that price. I already have an MFJ 259B
that only goes up to 170 MHz.

I have read that there were a number of people having various USB

is work being done on the USB software. I don't know if the latest
version of Raspbian has fixed things or not. I'll be using a USB audio

I have seen at least three types over the years. The straight IDC
crimp on both ends is the easiest and fairly common. Also common is
the one with IDC on the motherboard end and a solder cup DB-9 on the
other. In these, I mostly saw the wires soldered to alternate rows on

Coincidentally, I just ordered a R-Pi yesterday. I have other
potential uses for it, not NTP. If you are not in a hurry, it is
possible to find the Soekris boards on ebay for a decent price. I got
one last year, in a case, for $50.

Just cuious, of the two 58503A versions that yixunhk sells (Z3801A and
Z3805A), which one has the better performance? I see that the Z3805A
version has two 10 MHz outputs and one PPS.

I remember someone mentioning long ago about making GPIB cables with
ribbon cable and IDC connectors from Mouser. I can't find that
information again. What is the Mouser part number for those IDC
connectors?
Thanks,

I bought some 8-pin SMT clips a few years ago, but don't remember
where I got them. The only brands I know of are 3M, AP and Pomona. You
will find that these things are expensive.
