Thanks Holger looks like at least an inconsistency in the W3C -and it does explain the behaviour. I'm playing with TreeDataProvider because I think I want to be able to custom the default starting node in many cases... On 8 May 2018 at 16:01, Holger Knublauch wrote:

You can track the origin of each triple in TBC if you move/hover your mouse over the icon of the triple. Right, what I sent before is by itself no explanation for the rdfs:subClassOf owl:Thing triple. Both the TTL and the RDF/XML file from that site contains that triple in a second definition

note that if i import the PROV ontology, but dont include any subclass axioms, it shows "SoftwareAgent" as the sole subclass of owl:Thing. I dont see this declared specifically in prov code. Rob On 8 May 2018 at 12:22, Irene Polikoff wrote: > No, it doesn’t find

Hi Rob, the most common way to get data into TopBraid web applications (EDG) is via file import. The RDF file importer will add missing rdfs:subClassOf triples, because other people stumbled over this too. The importer will execute all SPIN rules from the file TopBraid/SKOS/skoscleaner

No, it doesn’t find anything arbitrary. By default, the root of the tree is owl:Thing (you can change it). The tree will display all subclasses of its root and then for each child, its subclasses and so on. If owl:Thing has no subclasses, you will see nothing but owl:Thing. > On May 7, 2018,

If the question is about Class Navigator, it shows all subclasses of the root class. By default, the root class is set to owl:Thing. In EDG, under the Manage tab, one can modify the root class - setting it to any rdfs or owl class. The most broadest selection would be rdfs:Resource. The most
