Thanks Pascal - good to know. However with the MDAC you have the
opportunity to try the EDO applet - you can alway try, then revert back
to how it was if necessary. Who knows, the sound quality might go from
'excellent' to 'sublime'.

It is. If you are using LMS on your computer or LMS on the Touch, go to
Internet Radio or My Apps and play something.
If it plays then MySB.com is being used in the background.

A good upgrade to the Touch can be a decent DAC. The clock inside the
Touch is not that bad. John Westlake (designer of the previous DacMagic
DACs , the Audiolab M-DAC and other award winning gear) has tested the
SBT and found that the clock is getting re-clocked inside the Touch.
That is prett
Hi
On my old W7 laptop I used to be able to type 192.168.1.133 into the
toolbar on Explorer and see the contents of the drive plugged into the
Touch and use this for adding more music albeit slowly over WiFi.
On my new laptop it switches to Firefox and tries to open a Web server

Wow, thank you garym and dasmueller,
I think that I am making progress slowly, I did as you suggested garym,
downloaded and installed new software went through faultlessly also
registered with mysqueezebox.com and was able to change owners at the
same time, so that is all OK now.

Yes, you are using the Touch's internal server if the Touch as a player
is utilizing it's USB/SD. LMS server from PC/Mac, NAS, or Touch use
MySB.com in the background.

You can also update Touch's firmware via SD card and a firmware bin
file. But you can also force an update to re-update to it's current
version. It will tell you that this firmware is already installed and
ask if you wish to reinstall it anyway.

And I assume you've already gone to "mysqueezebox.com" on the web,
created an account. As part of the setup process you'll have to ente

Well, you also have to see that there is very limited use for this
thing.
I am one of those who got a beta unit and I use it in my bathroom
(there's a picture of the setup somewhere in the Touch photo thread) but
the reason I could do that was that I completely re-built the bathroom

Hi all, first visit and new to Touch.
I would like to know what I should be doing here. I have just received
my Touch used, and when I connect it to my cable network, it picked it
up without a hick-up, that was good, but it wants to update the Software

The big cost is tooling up (creating the mould).
There are a few injection moulding estimators on the web. Using a US
based company, and taking a pessimistic view

Well I can only think something has gone wrong with the "digital volume
control" because you are getting the same faint sound from both the
analogue and digital outputs, which precludes something being wrong with
the analogue pre-amp circuitry. It als

Looks like the Touch is OK as is... I know that an audiophile forum
member elsewhere reported that adding an Empirical re-clocker between
SBT and his DAC makes his system sound 'sublime'. Now sublime is a nice
word is it not. So as a result I wanted to find out what forum member
here did to improv
