Just dust off a 10 year old laptop, install something like Ubuntu on it,

Dedicated anything is better than Touch a raspi or for hi performance an
intel nuc.
Run the OS you fancy , no need for monitor or kyeboard
My personal view is that the easiest solution is to run LMS on a
Raspberry Pi with files stored on a NAS, which is my preferred setup (I
leave this running 24/7). You may be able to sort out the USB drive on
the Pi, but power may be an issue.
