the same vintage as the kernel, so chipset in USB stick would have to be

The "soft" finish which was used on the lower panel of Touch, some SB
remote and Boom - deteriorates with time - I don't think use of any
cleaner is the direct cause.

Older versions of LMS used OpenDNS but I checked current version uses
the host DNS server.
