Kernel 4.4.0-112: no problems
kernel 4.4.0-116: Low res and can't login on graphical mode.
I have tried to uninstall and reinstall nvidia drivers to no effect.
I did a diff for dmesg output on both cases. The relevant bits are:

I have my new laptop, Lenovo 720s-13ARR shipped with the latest Ryzen 5 2500U,
installed Ubuntu 17.10, it seems everything works except Wifi and GPU. After
changing the wifi card with Intel 8265 and manually upgrading kernel with
M-bab's build from 'https://github.com/M-Bab

Tested the scilab 5.5.2 for ubuntu which works great.
However, I did not test it before applying the jogl2 patch :-o.
Had a look at the source and it seems that the Ubuntu version is patched to use
the
generic version of jogl2.
I would like to try and get this patch integrated in the Scilab

Sure, we can all improve but I just want to note one thing. The "Silly"
config that MAAS sends to curtin is valid config. That yields valid
configuration in Xenial. Since Curtin is now passing the /same/
configuration to cloud-init, cloud-init is not generating valid
configuration in Bioni

john-center - I believe mdadm is used by default, instead of dmraid.
However, I'm not sure if we do correctly activate Intel Raids with
mdadm. I have not done an install with either 16.04 or 18.04. Or I guess
