I recently installed a laptop with Trisquel 7 and installed the Linux Libre
kernel afterwards. However, I am having issues with my computer now that I
think might be linked to the Linux Libre Kernel.
I want to go back to the default kernel that comes with Trisquel 7. How do I
do this?
With Ubuntu 18.04 LTS coming out in April, should focus go towards "Trisquel
9" instead? I know there are a lot of users on Trisquel 7 and upgrading will
be hard, but maybe its good to have a fresh start? Gnome and KDE are mature
of course. MATE, XFCE, and even Budgie will be good to go as

It used to cost a lot more one year ago...
For those who remember... ;)
It is more reasonable of a price now.
I would agree that CHRIST IS GOD. I also though know that it would be

I would also add though Christianity has been misused ALOT...

Dear I khider:
As everything that you say in this forum, your commentary just led me to make

For Dvorak, we simply place stickers over the keys of a Qwerty keyboard. This
changes the symbols so that the keyboard is visibly Dvorak.
The keys on a thinkpad are oddly shaped, such that swapping the keys isn't
possible. I've contemplated creating my own native keyboards, since I'm a

There are many websites dealing with FF antifeatures or security or privacy

But Zimmerman also does ads for banks and luxury cars. The times, they are

Oh sorry, should have read this reply. Got it.
Huge cheer for Dvorak being available! How do you get around the problem of
the raised pips for touch typing on the F and J keys (as in Qwerty) and being
absent on the U and H keys (as needed in Dvorak)?

Keep us updated on the less opressive AMD-based laptops, with ideal battery
life if possible. Hey, I also saw a laptop with an Nvidea CPU, maybe that
will be better...? I dunno.
I guess my biggest requirement for a browser is that its completely FOSS, and
doesn't have any proprietary code built into it. So something like Pale Moon

Tor was just too slow last time I used it. I am fine with some tracking as

If your only problem with Firefox is its addon policies, Abrowser is the most
similar alternative that addresses that. The version of Abrowser in the
Trisquel 8 repository has already been updated to version 57.

What do you understand by contribute? Are translations, conferences, talks,
proposals, tests, advices, etc. software contributions for you?
When researching FOSS browsers, you get back firefox, chromium, etc - which
arent totally FOSS.
Why seamonkey over the other ones listed? Are they not totally free? Which
ones of the ones I listed are FOSS?
Pale Moon binaries are proprietary. Why not use Seamonkey if you are happy
with an older design and a more traditional appearance.
Dillo, Netsurf... There's a whole bunch of browsers out there to choose from.
What do you guys think about BS that mozilla pulled by installing an addon

You are absolutely right! My goal is to abandon any non free software,
installing Trisquel was my first step. As soon as I feel comfortable using
Trisquel I'll definitely uninstall Ubuntu.
It doesn't work in all cases unfortunately. I know for example that my
employer and their clients are going to insist on non-free tools and
technologies because of corporate IT policies they established two decades
ago, and nothing I say or do is going to fix that!
Sadly, in the real world
25 eur for native keyboard for other layouts, e.g. german, french, usa, etc.
For Dvorak it's 5 EUR. That pays for stickers/overlays on top of the keys.
The user is "grub" and the password was randomly generated when Trisquel was
installed. You can read it (from Trisquel) at the very end of
/etc/grub.d/01_PASSWORD. Instead of learning that password, I suggest you to
get rid of it... since it "only serve[s] to make it difficult to recover
It also solves a lot of security issues that plagued the old extension
system.
I had this happen years back with a Windows partition (I was young and
foolish!). I recall it was a big with GRUB and one that cannot be fixed
without installing a newer version from somewhere.
That said, you should do like I did and take it as a sign that you should
stay clear of that
With respect, Ubuntu 16.04 LTS won't be "outdated" when Trisquel 8 releases.
It will be supported with hardware and maintenance updates until late 2018,
and it will continue receiving maintenance updates until 2021. See
https://www.ubuntu.com/info/release-end-of-life.
I agree though that
