As for documentation, what would you need? Like general setup of the OS or

That makes me really happy. Now that Ruben works at the FSF, he can dedicate

Ubuntu MATE 16.04/Trisquel 8 will offer a Unity styled look as an additional

Hey Jacob,
Are you thinking of creating a Cinnamon theme that fits into the Trisquel
color scheme and icons? If you want to put the effort into that, then that
sounds awesome. If you pull it off, maybe it will be included in the main
theme package when Trisquel 8 comes out due to Cinnamon
I believe the ZFS on Linux project cannot change the license as it is a fork
of the original and is bound to it. That is a shame, since ZFS is exceptional
and having it on GNU/Linux would be a big deal. Especially since the more
liberal BSD operating systems have it and if GNU/Linux vendors
Snowden, Apple, Google, and Facebook have took a stand against the FBI
getting backdoor access to the iPhone and potentially more devices in the
future. Bill Gates just came out and supports the FBI getting access:

Hopefully sheds more light on my previous forum thread.
What if Canonical ships the ISOs with the ZFS package not included, but then
brings it in automatically the first time you update your packages? That way
your software ships without this GPL restriction.
As a follow up to my post, I see that zfs-dkms is a virtual package provided
by linux-image-4.4.0-6-generic.
If Trisquel wants to counter this, wouldn't the .deb files for the kernel
have to exclude the installation of zfs-dkms and make sure that the zfs
packages are not included on the
ZFS, while GPL incompatible, is still free software. It is one of those
technologies that has kept people tied to the BSDs and while other file
systems like btrfs have tried, ZFS is still king.
The only problem? It cannot be merged into the mainline kernel due to
conflicts with the GPL. We

I fully support MATE as the default for future Trisquel versions as it is

As for my Cinnamon link, I wanted to make it known that older Trisquel users
have an option to use Cinnamon if they want. The PPA is easier than adding

The Gnome 2 versions of Trisquel were gorgeous and I'd like to see 8 and

I know they are trolling, but a permissive license is more ideal for a

Python is a great example as it is still installed by default in Apple's OSX

I bang that drum because I care and want to see the project not only be

You are also repeating the same ole same ole as well. Your solution is to

As we all know, Trisquel is a side project for Ruben as he spends the

I'd love to move to F2FS with Trisquel 8 onwards due to better support in the

Are you using btrfs? One time I tried it on my root partition and it filled
up quickly due to its copy on write nature. It was a little while back
though, so maybe the space issue was fixed in later kernels.
That's a good thing the FLIF team was able to comprise. Codecs and formats in
general should be as unrestricted as possible to aid in adoption. Heck, the

Why are you using the lower quality Theora in the ogv conatainer instead of

The nice thing about the 4.2 kernel is that all of the features of the Xbox
