The term "dark market" sounds illegal to me. Therefore, I wouldn't use it for
something I consider to be good.
Fortunately, having no wireless isn't a deal breaker for me.
Well, I am happy how it worked out so far. And I just have the systems that
where easy to get. The last one I bought was just for 15 Euros. So there was
not much to lose. The only annoying thing is that I need to get new CMOS
batteries. They are very cheap too but most of the time they are
Oddly enough I could get rid of the problem by installing Debian Buster in
the end. Everything seems to work now. I don't get how this could even be
relevant. And I tried with an other T40 which I recently got very cheap.
There I had similar problems with Trisquel but not with Debian. (And
I think I have tested the RAM already but I actually can't remember any more.
I will test and investigate more as soon as I can.
Thank you for your feedbacks Magic Banana and nadebula.1984.

I have of course changed those options over and over again. Unfortunately it
doesn't help.

Resently I got my old IBM ThinkPad T40 laptop from about 2003 back. (Someone
else had it at home but hasn't actually use it in recent years.) Firstly I
replaced the finally empty CMOS battery. Afterwards I could install Trisquel
8.0 mini only by using a DVD. (The USB option unfortunately
>If you're happy with LibreOffice then it sounds like everything's good
Well, as said earlier: in theory I would prefer Abiword because I love its
much less cluttered user interface but if it isn't working properly for me I
might stick with Libre Office Writer for the time being. I don't use

Tahnk you for your answer chaosmonk.
Abiword just freezes. And it doesn't give any feedback. Even the commend line
doesn't provide any additional feedback when this happens since the output I
quote is given before the error happens when I start typing:
[quote]$ abiword

I recently installed Trisquel 8.0 mini on my old IBM ThinkPad T40. And
everything works good so far. Only the Abiword version available in the
repository breaks as soon as I want to delete any character when I type in
any text. I made all updates and reinstalled Abiword and the same thing
Sorry, I don't get the meaning of your list.
Unfortunately after many attempts I could only replace Trisquel with Debian
(which worked instantly) since the Trisquel installer did not work with this
disk in legacy mode at all and despite about one full week of trying out
different things I was unable to create a boot menu entry for the
I'm not sure if I get it: You recommend using a command like "gdisk -o
/dev/sdb" on the GRUB command line before I attempt a normal installation
with my usb stick? (There is no personal data since it is a new system which
wasn't in use yet.)
I have the problem that the installer can't create the GRUB MBR record on a

Yes, ist is NOT hidden and it still doesn't show up. Therefore it looks like
it would be hidden even if it actually isn't.
I just wanted to let you know that I do have a similar issue of not being
able to connect to a hidden wireless on Debain Stretch with XFCE on an Asus
EeePC 1015px.
It might not be the same problem entirely since I can't connect to my own
network even if it is not hidden. It doesn't even
Ok, why not? Reviewing anything might cause the page to be just to diverse to
attract a greater number of people from any subculture, but of course it
would be great if it could become THE place for reviews. I like the
minimalistic approach. :)

I am very pleased with the excellent customer care and the Technoethical
