I know, but if the user really needs to (work issues(, at least it should
block whatever Skype is trying to access to.
I prefer to use QTox.
Firejail Steam at least:

GOG is great
Canonical will be back porting the amdgpu firmware from Linux 4.5 to their
4.4 kernel for Ubuntu 16.04. Something to keep in mind for Trisquel 8.
I didn't tryed it cuz I don't use my laptop with HD4000, I using my desktop
with Nouveau and gtx770, and I got support for reclock, PCIe3, only with 4.4.
Before 4.4 I must to fix everything myseft with karolherbst's (some nouveau
developer) fixes, using kernel's headers.
Why not to try 4.4 linux-libre?
Will be fine, if they remove their shittyest firmware-data blob from their
GPUs.
Are you running the latest version? There was a graphics overhaul recently,
and it has higher demands now. I'm pretty sure the version in the Trisquel
repo is still the previous version that is less demanding.
Yes, you must have non-free firmware signed in your OS.
Yes, I know. It is just personal decision.
As I can see, that game very bad implemented or just abandonware. I can not
try performance cuz the game won't run. Doesn't matter how powerful is your
computer.
What happening with Torque3D games?
There is a PPA: https://launchpad.net/~stk/+archive/ubuntu/dev. I recommend
the latest Linux-libre as the driver may have been updated for better
performance since then.
I read at Slashdot two days ago :
AMD: It's Time To Open Up the GPU
AMD has called for the opening up of GPU technology to developers. Nicolas
Thibieroz, a senior engineering manager for the company, announced today the
launch of GPUOpen, its initiative to provide code and documentation to
The best option for free gaming is currently an older Nvidia GPU. Some of
them have had the firmware reverse-engineered. Nouveau is in constant
development; the version included in newer kernels means that SuperTuxKart (I
am using the 0.9 release) is reasonably playable at mid-range graphics
If you are going to play non-free games, at least reject Steam. The copy
protection is ruthless and it tracks your gameplay.
Yes, waiting, but for now, Nouveau + reclock.
Thay will not open the actual blob.
Perhaps they will support the GPU as much as they supported Coreboot... that
is, not much. Isn't there the firmware still needed for the GPU?
> You will be able to run every libre game with high settings and nice fps
This one probably won't even start (like most Torque3D games):

I had the same problem with video drivers. I think it may arise from it
detecting an older version of Nouveau (for me) or the Intel one. Or it could
just be detecting the drivers wrongly. At any rate, I can't use the highest
graphics level. Level 4 worked reasonably well for the simpler
My Trisquel 7 64, +Linux 4.4(linux-libre)(here everything ready for reclock,
all patched), + GTX 770 4gb, I can run any game(all high, 144hz, 1080p, high
fps) . I play steam games too on my backd00red i7-2600. (CS:GO, Chivalry, War
for the overlord, Left4Dead, Killing Floor, Dota2, and
Most stuff published by GPUOpen appears to be relevant for DirectX rather
than OpenGL. There are a few OpenGL samples, but no "complete" code like
TressFX.
Well, waiting for firmware to open up...
On the face of it, this sounds like an incredibly positive move by AMD. Is
this the first sign of the big hardware manufacturers accepting that software
freedom is the way of the future, as so many hardware start-ups have already
done? Let's hope so. I look forward to hearing for the FSF
