Mumps and UniVerse are on different boxes, Mumps on an old Solaris and
UniVerse on a smoking Intel Linux box. That restriction is already in
place and we use AccuTerm setup to login as ssh

Have you considered turning off telnet and using ssh to log into
Universe/MUMPS? It should just be a simple .profile (or .bash_profile)
change. That will give you PCI compliance.
