[U2] VSG view question

2010-04-06 Thread Lunt, Bruce
Hi All, I installed the VSG software onto our HPUX UniData machine and generated my first view. This is meant for an external vendor to be able to import daily sales. I cannot find much in the way of documentation but with the help that I got last week I was able to run VSG and create the

An important user here (my boss) likes to use the mouse to move around our green screen applications. Although I have tried to discourage this type of mouse use, he asked me to find the answer. He tells me that this worked at one time. It is not clear to me if I changed our applications or if

I would think she would have to create the file herself using the view you created (or you would have to do it for her). We have folks here using VB, Excel and Access with the views. Best Regards, Caryl Lange Programmer/Business Analyst HME 14110 Stowe Drive Poway, California 92064 phone: (858)

This seems to be a copy/paste issue with DC on Vista/Win Server 2008 and greater. IIRC there's an open service ticket with Rocket. Cheers, Stuart Boydell -Original Message- From: u2-users-boun...@listserver.u2ug.org [mailto:u2-users-boun...@listserver.u2ug.org] On Behalf Of Brutzman,

You created the schema so another program can use ODBC to view the data (in a single sentence). If your vendor is expecting a text or csv type file, you could create that using Excel or Access and send that to her. Or you could skip ODBC all together an create the file using UD. Here, they use

Yes, the vendor has access to our system but we were only allowing limited access while they were trying to connect and retrieve the data. I told them to use ODBC. We'll see how it goes. Thanks for the help, Bruce -Original Message- From: u2-users-boun...@listserver.u2ug.org

Sounds like they don't know how to setup the ODBC to your system. And they would have to know how to get only the specific data they wanted (date range, etc). Might be a bit much without you walking them through it. Good luck! :) Best Regards, Caryl Lange Programmer/Business Analyst HME 14110

Well, I tried to make it very simple. I made a clone of one of our primary files with a sample of 200 records. I then built the records with just 5 attributes. One of them has mulitvalues. I need to learn how to use the ODBC myself, I guess. -Original Message- From:

Hi Bill This is a problem with Wintegrate and DC on Vista and Windows 7. I believe Rocket is looking at this, but you should make a support call to Rocket on this. If you use Windows 7, you could run DC through the xp virtual mode. You could try running DC in xp compatible mode in windows 7

Bill This is an issue that is also present in the current wIntegrate version (the basis for the DC product). I understand that it is due to an interaction between WINTEG (DC) and the Aero interface of Vista and Win7. Has your boss changed PCs or upgraded OS recently? Gregor -Original
