Is this new to uv 10.1? Because it doesn't happen in uv 10.0 for me.
Are you using the standard uv line editor?

I still use my good old Reality Pocket Guide by JES & Assoc published in
the 1980's as an ASCII reference and to decipher old PROC when I need
to. It's only 4" X 6". A new Universe one would be wonderful and I
would certainly buy one!!

occur has to do with any menu system or security in the account I'm
logging to. For example, if the other account has no access to the
LOGTO verb or there is a menu in the way of getting to TCL.

I definitely agree! But this is just a utility which only selects out
these specific temporary files to delete them so there shouldn't be any
problems. I always understood LONGNAMES ON to be a once only thing, but
for some reason, that doesn't seem to be the case. I can only assume
