the AV got on their network because symantec corporate edition didn't detect it, despite their docs saying they can detect this family of virus's since December 2003 (which is the third time in under a month i've had this happen on our network - although mcaffee doesn't detect this virus either

we have spent the last 10 days trying to get this to work ALL THE TIME. we used to cpio the account up, ftp it across and then cpio it out again. However we were finding that files were not being included in the cpio output. We know from experience that tar doesn't work on the input side of things.

be EXTREMELY careful if you upgrade to version 5.x of sbclient. The software does work much better than 4.x but the upgrade routine has one major hangup. If you upgrade to version 5 and keep the same serial number, when you launch one version5 client the licence details will ripple around the netwo

Like another poster on the list, we are looking at controlling a serial device (a carousel) from a pc. At the moment it runs on a unix box and we send commands to a fixed tty for the aux port of the dumb terminal. However the server is being replaced by a w2k server and the Dumb Terminal by a pc. W
