Hi,
This is going to sound crazy, but here we go...
Has anyone seen packet loss across an AF5x link that occurred exactly
every 30 seconds? I have a couple of links, on completely different
towers, that drop packets every 30 seconds. I can observe it using the
MikroTik traffic generator, or
Is the 3x optical zoom just manually adjustable at installation, or is it
remotely controllable?
I have gone through the documentation and I can't find where it is
explained.
Thanks

Max TX power depends on the channel width in 3.65ghz. With the full 40mhz
channel, I believe the AF3x will let you go up to 46db EIRP (the dish is 26dbi,
so that would be 20dbm eirp, not accounting for any cable loss)... I assume
that's what's actually allowed, but I'd have to look up the

I had this happen to a link, pulled it down to -26dBm TX power or
something silly. The only fix was to manually specify the
I originally put time into this because we had a packet loss problem at the
upstream radio of a heavily loaded AF24 link. After multiple days of
intermittent analysis, we honed in on Ethernet overruns and indeed, solved
the problem when we updated to Netonix firmware 1.4.7 and then turned on
flow
Well, my experience has been that it doesn't seem to matter, at least from
what I can tell. You'd think a fiber port with full gig would overrun the
radios however I've got the switches full so the load is distributed out
fairly evenly. I'll start chasing other things. Thanks!

Chris,
We're 100% running 1.4.7, so I can only speak to that release. On the
other hand, the Netonix folks are very responsive to anything posted on
their forum. I'd gather as much data as you can and post to their forum.
Thanks,

Rick,
We're not completely consistent there. :(
The only place where flow control is critical is when you have an Ethernet
port that can overrun the actual speed of the link. For us, that only
happens with ports driving radios.
Some of our guys turn on Flow control on all switch ports. I have

Ya, I was talking about flow control. Sorry to mix the conversation but
arent they related?

Hmmm... interesting...
never saw the issue on the STA /CPE side.. and have not seen it on XW
hardware either..
But then again we have been replacing the RM5 / AP for nextgen upgrades..
I don't believe you will get an answer to this on the public forum.. since the
issue is a very
