This could easily be done using fuse. I don't believe we will include
this in the kernel because it 1) doesn't seem to be maintained 2)
doesn't enable any non-working hardware 3) is not SMP safe.
This is a good candidate for someone to package out of tree and put in
universe.

Try booting with pci=nommconf to deal with the MMCONFIG problem. Between
that and pci=nomsi, you should be set for booting with acpi on.

I don't follow? Does this occur when booting from the CD, or when you're

I have an HP Pavilion dv5000. On this, the volume and mute do work (in
Edgy), however rhythmbox doesn't respond to the media keys other than
the play/pause one. They do send signals according to xev though. Any

Replace "man /etc/X11/xorg.conf" with "man xorg.conf" and close this

Can someone confirm that they also have a weird image distortion with
mplayer when playing DivX 5.0 movies ?
I have an Intel 82815 Chipset Graphics Controller (rev 02) and without
first using Xine or Totem, I always got a ghost red/green image at 45
degrees with mplayer.

The tradeoff is that you need MMCONFIG to access extended PCI Express
config space. This matters for approximately 0% of users, so it will be
disabled by default, and people who need it can turn it on.

tried first run, but no success in reproducing the crash. I will wait to
retry when we have a lot of updates to applications that affect gnome-
panel.
Valgrind reports some accesses tha overlay freed blocks, but nothing
