I first thought it was because of the nvidia kernel module but even when it's

settings from ~/.fluxbox/apps and success, firefox now starts normally.

Not only does it pop up with this message but I also note that it takes
substantially longer for Mplayer to load when the screensaver is
disabled. Somewhere in the range of 30-60 seconds.
