quite pleased with how Compiz works.
(I had Gutsy before (re-installed after some hardware problems), but
Compiz didn't work very well, probably because of cruft accumulated

Just reinstalled openoffice.org-writer from a different mirror to see if
that made a difference, and it doesn't. Also, oodraw, oocalc, oobase all
exhibit the same behaviour. :(

Forgot to add..
Compiz-gnome was installed. Emerald not which was installed and used
when running Feisty. In Feisty the trevino repository was used. I'll
try completely removing compiz and reinstalling again to see if that
helps. On Feisty I've also had occasions where fusion-icon failed but

I use a script to make an SSH tunnel and I created a launcher in a panel
for this script. The launcher contains the path to the script and the
option to execute it in a terminal. When I activate the laucher by
clicking it on the panel, the terminal opens, but I only get placed
