For me the ACPI_SLEEP_MODE variable solved the problem. when I leave my laptop
for a many time inactive then blank screen came on, then nothing more works,
only the power button :(. But changing the value of mem to standby works for me.
My laptop wake-up without problem.

After I poked a bit around I guess this is /lib/udev/write_net_rules
which calls lock_rules_file() which has a 30 second timeout if it can't
lock the rules file to modify. Just a guess but I'll change the package
to udev for now.

I suspect my problem is similar. I saw I had 3 unread emails, but only 1
was visible. When I opened a webmail interfact, mail was there.
Using the webmail, I can move items to another folder (other than INBOX)
and see them, and when moved back to inbox they are visible in
Thunderbird.
VERY odd.
I've never had any problem playing videos anywhere else, at least not to
the point where it hard locked my system. I use totem-xine, vlc and
mplayer and have never had it lock my system up. Yes I use Compiz and I
didn't try disabling it, I've since removed miro though as hard
rebooting my laptop
Ouch! I thought this went away, but I just tried it again and it played
a split second of the sound and then crashed my system again. The video
became garbled and then X restarted itself.

We solved it by putting hostname $new_host_name into a file at
/etc/dhcp3/dhclient-exit-hooks.d/

I have done some tests and have read some log files, but I didn't find
how this 'web' component got added to the 'sources.list' yet.

I have just tried and cannot connect to a Windows machine (terminal
services) using vinagre which I think is expected due to vinagre being a
VNC client.
However I can see confusion happening, because nowadays Windows refers
to 'Terminal Services' as 'Remote Desktop'.

The computer had just barely started, and I got this crash report. I
upgraded to Hardy Beta from Gutsy, and I had Filezilla (latest version of
apt-get) installed there.
Hardy auto detected the problem. That was it.

this shouldn't happen in a clean install, nor upgrade unless the links was
manually changed, i'm refering to avahi-daemon having 50
