Confirming that a work-around is to manually unmount the ~/.gvfs using:
$ fusermount -u ~/.gvfs
Then close/unmount all opened remote locations in Nautilus and log out
and back in, again. This restores the .gvfs-functionality for me.

Hardy: When in GUI mode, selecting SystemQuit... and then Restart or
Shutdown, etc. does not work anymore. All application windows seem to
be terminated but the requested operation never completes. I am able to
restart/shutdown only by killing X (Ctrl-Alt-Backspace).

This bug does not seem to be present when using Mesa instead of ATI's
OpenGL library. I dragged the cube around for 90 seconds (imagine that!)
to compensate for the lower framerate, but still the lines weren't drawn
dashed.

Each time I launch evolution I can reproduce the copy/paste crash. But when I
launch it as indicated in valgrind wiki page (G_SLICE=always-malloc
G_DEBUG=gc-friendly valgrind -v --tool=memcheck --leak-check=full
--num-callers=40 --log-file=valgrind.log evolution) the copy/paste
fixed in 0.6.1ubuntu3; if you have a chance to retry the upgrade, please
do.

Want to report success for x86 arc.
Hello.
I have similar Home theater PC with soundgraph imon LCD. I don't have problems
shutting down the system. When I select SHUT DOWN system properly closes all
aplications and powers down whole PC. I understand that it might behave
differently for AMD64.
